Job Description

The Thomson Reuters Enterprise Platform integrates, distributes, and adds value to information from and about the markets. This includes real-time and historical prices from data vendors, exchanges, and brokers; real-time and historical news from the press, the web and internal analysts; as well as internal calculations and other forms of proprietary information used to support crucial decisions. DACS (Data Access Control System) is a value-added product of the Thomson Reuters Enterprise Platform that provides authorization capabilities for real-time data access.

We are seeking a highly qualified Technical Specialist with 8+ years of experience in an assortment of technologies from database, reports, GUI, C/C++/Java API and web services. As a part of our development team, you will work closely with a very experienced team to extend and support our industry-leading authorization system.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight of design, development and testing of software modules.
  • Explores design options, leads the creation of design and ensures business and technical requirements are met.
  • Design of software modules; implementation in C++/Java, unit testing, integration testing
  • Participates in code/design reviews and reviews work of peers and more junior developers
  • Accountable for the creation, review, and maintenance of all required technical documentation/ manual related to assigned software– technical specifications, software documentation and unit test plans
  • Provides technical support to customer or operations teams and assists in resolution of field problems as needed
  • Partners with Quality Assurance to ensure high quality deliverables and that the software meets business, technical and operational requirements
  • Provides technical or general guidance to team members as well as across teams in area of subject matter expertise by possessing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline or area
  • Handle multiple, complex technical projects and have the flexibility to work in a very dynamic environment


  • 8 or more years of computer software development experience
  • Has solid to expert experience in one or more programming languages (C++, Java and/or other Object Oriented programming languages), software engineering methodologies and software development tools
  • Knowledge and experience in real time C/C++ programming skills, strong UNIX operating System skills (Linux, Solaris) preferred
  • Database technology experience (Oracle, Postgres)
  • Strong, demonstrated analytical troubleshooting skills
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Bachelors degree in CS, Engineering or related; masters preferred, or equivalent experience
