Role Overview

Are you a motivated student with an interest in creating high-quality and interesting content? Do you have a passion for journalism and writing? If so, Thomson Reuters has the internship for you.

In this role, you will be responsible for creating relevant and accurate content for our attorney clients nation-wide. You will have the opportunity to turn best practices into action by developing content across a wide-variety of individual medium, using best practices and our preferred style guide across various styles (e.g., online, marketing, informational/journalistic, blog posts, social media).


  • Deliver content creation plan for client initiatives (e.g., logical navigational architecture, social promotion, content migration and management)
  • Consult internal partners to understand client business goals, brand differentiators, target audiences, and tone and voice
  • Research and write content that meets internal best practices, industry standards and corporate policies
  • Edit or revise content based on internal or external feedback
  • Meet established deliverables and quality expectations
  • Work in multiple processes or on multiple projects at a time
  • Write compelling content consistent with the customers practice area and geographic location
  • Understand and use performance measures to refine and improve writing performance
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, completing varied work assignments
  • Regularly communicate and share knowledge, including lateral and upward communication of work status
  • Understand and creatively implement holistic client marketing strategy in regards to content mediums
  • Maintain proficiency in company business systems, including writing and tracking software
  • Participate in team and cross-functional initiatives related to the improvement of product, process and writing best practices

Skills & Profile:

  • Strong research skills
  • Ability to learn and utilize multiple computer systems ranging from MS Office products to internal business systems
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple and/or conflicting projects and priorities
  • High-quality communication techniques including excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with customers and proven customer service skills (troubleshooting, creative problem solving, solutions focused, customer centric)
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work independently, but also works well in a team environment, adopts change and is highly adaptable
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Deadline driven and ability to achieve output and metric goals


  • Minimum of two years of course work completed toward an in-progress Bachelor’s degree preferably in English, Communications or Journalism, with a history of academic excellence
  • Content writing experience preferred
  • Internet writing experience in legal, marketing, social media or journalism field is preferred
  • Customer-facing experience is preferred
  • Relevant writing samples are required for consideration
