Interim Product Development Manager

(1-year contract)


To develop and acquire new and existing products within defined major market segment to ensure customer needs and corporate revenue targets are continually met.

This position is responsible for:

  • monitoring legal, practice and/or major market developments in assigned market areas;
  • establishing network of authors within defined market areas and responding quickly with product and content as market requires;
  • developing comprehensive product definitions which result in marketable products;
  • leveraging existing databases to develop new product to address needs of market segments;
  • arranging for testing and reviewing of new product concepts to ensure customer needs are met;
  • maintaining effective external author relationships to obtain delivery of manuscript on planned schedules;
  • monitoring sales revenue and listing growth of new products against product plan;
  • participating in new product pricing and effective promotional/sales planning; and
  • participating in the Unit’s revenue planning process.

You will be a strong team player and will possess:

  • an LL.B.;
  • several years experience in information product development or related publishing experience;
  • knowledge of market use of products;
  • excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation, negotiation and relationship building);
  • strong analytical, problem-solving skills and issue resolution skills;
  • strong planning and organizational skills;
  • entrepreneurial and leadership abilities;
  • the ability to react with urgency and devote high levels of time and energy where deadlines require;
  • familiarity with electronic research techniques; and
  • PC skills (MS Office).
