Overview

The market specialist role provides deep domain knowledge to prospects, clients and internal account teams.  This role requires an expert in Banking with strong understanding of the Fixed Income markets.     

This role is pivotal to the sales process, requiring coordination with colleagues in Account Management, Product Management, and other teams within Thomson Reuters.  To be successful you will need a structured but creative approach to problem solving, have tenacity and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, spot project risks and opportunities and be able to prioritize quickly.

The location of the role will be in New York City or Chicago.

Responsibilities:

  • Eikon desktop demonstrations to prospects
  • Respond quickly to customer needs, working with urgency to propose creative solutions that deliver demonstrable value
  • Deliver Team Gross Sales number by quarter/year
  • Proactive prospecting & Opportunity Creation
  • Enhance your skills/skills development
  • Leveraging your network to build relationships and grow Eikon’s marketshare in Banking and Fixed Income markets. 

The successful candidate will typically have 8+ years’ financial industry experience with a proven track record in client facing role preferable selling into Banking sector & fixed income departments and knows FI traders workflow.

Qualifications:

  • Proven domain expertise in a sales - Identifying opportunities, listening and leading client meetings.  Questioning and clarifying detailed requirements and presenting Eikon to customers.
  • Strong financial markets knowledge with solid understanding of how different market participants interact and connect
  • Experience engaging and coordinating with business, technical and operations stakeholders
  • Creative thinker and ability to generate new ideas
  • Strong presentation skills (verbal & written)
  • Ability to organize and execute a sales plan and manage stakeholder expectations
