Community Relations Programs Specialist – Role Purpose

This position will be responsible for executing on the community and educational strategy in our critical U.S. based regional hubs. The successful candidate will be provided direction from the Director of Community Relations as well as collaborate with leadership and various employee groups to drive a broad marketing-based strategy for these hubs that will provide opportunities to partner with other organizations and positively impact the community. This position will be Contract with the possibility of permanent hire.

Key Responsibilities

The community relations program specialist will:

  • Execute on the community strategy for the designated location(s).
  • With guidance from the management team, work with various business and philanthropic community-based organizations to develop programs, events and new initiatives that promote the values and initiatives of the Thomson Reuters organization.
  • Analyze results of partnership for impact on employee engagement, brand elevation, and social impact.
  • Research and review organizations for potential partnership with Thomson Reuters.
  • Serve as a representative for the organization at community meetings and forums.
  • Communicate internally and externally participation, partnership, sponsorship and success on various events and occasions.
  • Become an expert in the community portal and run reports on matching program activity for all TRTA centered locations.
  • Engage and collaborate with various Thomson Reuters leadership and employees on the community strategy, which includes but is not limited to:
  • Coordination of attendance at various events
  • Manage logistics around any event or activity
  • Provide timely communication and updates
  • Assist in fielding employee requests for donations to charities, volunteer events and/or civic obligations

In addition, this individual is required to work successfully with representatives from various communities, organizations and neighborhoods with respect to the diverse populations and cultures that serve and seeks to serve.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public health, social work or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience preferably in marketing and/or community work.
  • Experience working with data informatics/analytics.
  • Experience working with executive leaders.
