Direct Account Manager

Job Description

We are currently looking for an Account Manager to join our Direct team based in Geneva.

You will be responsible to manage an existing portfolio of customers with a strong focus on revenue retention and gross sales. You will take care of the customer segment “asset management”. Your territory will cover CEE countries in Europe (60% of customers to take care of are located in Poland)

You are responsible for organizing a strategic approach to retain existing revenue and generate new gross revenue sales, mainly remotely, via calls and e-mail.

The successful candidate will be a resourceful, motivated individual with a high level intellectual curiosity, especially towards the financial markets in continental Europe.

Responsibilities Include:

- Manages, retains and grows revenue, Accountable and responsible for sales results : Executes the Direct team strategy that includes a strong focus on revenue retention and gross sales generation

- Establishes strong, long-term customer relationships to drive account revenue generation.
- Maintains relationships with key decision makers.
- Strategically develops and executes a retention and growth-centric account strategy
- Applies knowledge of business and its constituent workflows to conceive and position value-added solutions to promote sales and revenue growth.
- Collaborates with account team and/or other business units where required and has oversight of all account activities.
- Responsible for forecasting, keeps management in touch with accounts in a timely fashion, gathers intelligence on competitor activity, and gives feedback to other internal stakeholders.
- Acts as point of contact for the prospects/clients, provides escalation path to and from Service and attends to customer issues promptly as appropriate.
- Tracks customer activity in internal systems in order to execute on account strategy and identify additional opportunities

Department Description:

Direct is one of Thomson Reuters sales channels focusing predominantly on the management of small to medium sized clients by telephone.  The Direct Channel brings together all remote customer management capabilities under a single strategy. 

Direct represents a significant business opportunity for Thomson Reuters and already provides a high quality and cost effective sales channel to market for over 3,500 customers in Europe.

Successful candidates will have the majority of the following skills:

  • Manages, retains and grows revenue, responsible for sales and accountable for service performance.
  • Good business acumen and a working knowledge of the financial industry.
  • Fluent in English and Polish. Other Easter Europe Language spoken would be an asset.
  • Shows autonomy as well as initiative and a persuasive sales ability.
  • Has the flexibility to adapt to a changing environment and works well under pressure
  • A high level of energy, self-motivation, competitiveness, and a desire to positively impact the business.
  • Selling skills (identity, develop and articulate simple to complex proposition/consultative selling).
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills needed in order to handle objections and convert leads into prospects.
  • Creative problem solver with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Thomson Reuters Products and Services knowledge, and competitor’s core products.
  • Strong customer focus work ethic.
  • Proven track record of sales or high achievements within a target driven environment.
  • Graduate level education.
  • A proven ability to learn quickly.
  •  Strong understanding of customers and their business workflows.
  •  Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop and execute a sales plan, ability to use a variety of technology with a high level of proficiency.
  • Problem solving--ability to understand, articulate, structure and solve client needs.
  • Responsible for forecasting, keeps management in touch with accounts in a timely fashion, gathers intelligence on competitor activity, and gives feedback to other internal stakeholders.
