Product Manager - Valuation

Job Description

This product management role supports Aumentum Valuation, a product within the Government business unit of Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting.  The role is responsible for managing, guiding and delivering product direction for the Real Property, Personal Property and Case Management modules of Aumentum.

The Product Manager must be a proven leader with ad valorem valuation or taxation expertise from recent years in State or Local Government. This position will meld high level vision and strategy with market feedback to deliver creative and innovative solutions to better the market-leading Aumentum solutions. You will need to demonstrate a history of solving complex problems by successfully collaborating with distributed teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide and manage the overall Product direction and ensure that growth is in alignment with the needs of our existing customer base and potential clients.  
  • Balance demands from various stakeholders when setting development priorities. 
  • Review business and product needs, regulations, and laws for complex projects to anticipate potential market / regulatory impacts. 
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and customers to validate requirements and priorities through various forums and refine those requirements for broad market applicability
  • Collaborate with user experience team, business analysts, and developers with a focus on defining cross-product functionality and designing solutions that align with market needs
  • Provide sales and marketing support in the form of product demonstrations and proposal responses as required.
  • Support fit-gap sessions and ensure appropriate scope and priority on contracted and requested deliverables is maintained.
  • Contribute to the successful implementation of Aumentum Valuation products by supporting professional services teams as required.
  • Guide teams with product direction as needed on requirements and vision for major module design initiatives
  • Set and manage to release plans for modules and functional areas
  • Monitor market changes and trends to formulate and communicate competitive product positioning and identify opportunities for current and future product consideration
  • Provide regular updates on Aumentum Valuation’s direction and coordinated release plans to various leadership teams

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years’ software product management or similar experience or combination thereof
  • Strong industry knowledge base and previous experience in ad valorem valuation and taxation.  
  • Excellent verbal and written  communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving, negotiating and decision making skills
  • Strong business acumen throughout the product management lifecycle
  • Experience managing dependencies across multiple local and distributed teams
  • Deep analytical skills and ability to draw appropriate conclusions
  • Driven self-starter who thrives as part of a collaborative team
  • Travel to customer sites and other events expected up to 50%
  •  May require extended work schedules, tight deadlines and conflicting priorities
  • Must be able to work in a variety of social, cultural, legal, and political environments
