Business Intelligence Developer

Job Description

The position is in the analytics and reporting team associated with FX transactions platform.

The heart and soul of the team is to produce value added visualizations of the data. To glean information and insights from the data not just report on it. The candidate must have a keen understanding of the business domain and facility with numbers. To use the tools to draw conclusions that are not obvious.

The candidate is expected to interact independently with the quants, the product managers and the development teams to gain an understanding of the data and create visualizations as required by internal and external clients. They are expected to drive this effort so self-motivation is a requirement. We are looking for someone with superb communication skills and strong desire to move the needle.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Meet with product and proposition managers to understand requirements.
  • Meet with business analyst and quants to understand the data.
  • Iteratively deliver Tableau reports
  • Review visualizations with appropriate teams
  • Suggest new ways of viewing the data

Key Relationships:

  • Product management to clarify requirements for development.
  • Product team to develop business intelligence reports.
  • Development teams to build schemas and message mappings.
  • Quants to explain mappings and implement visualizations.

Essential Skills/Experience Required:

  • Communication and presentation skills.
  • Deep understanding of SQL and relational database design
  • Experience with Tableau or other business intelligence tool.
  • Knowledge of trading workflows
  • Understanding of multi leg instruments.

Desired Skills/Experience Required:

  • Knowledge of trading currencies.
  • Understanding BigData and Hadoop.
  • UNIX.

Education/ Certifications:

  • Either a degree in computer science or finance (preferred)
  • Any certifications with BI tools
