Associate Editor, Bankruptcy

Job Description


  • Writing, editing, publishing and sub-editing legal updates.
  • Working with Editors, researching, drafting and editing core service resources, including practice notes, checklists and standard documents.
  • Provide additional editorial support as needed.
  • Initial maintenance of core resources, working with Editors.
  • Generating weekly/monthly e-mails on current legal developments for subscribers.
  • Backup trawl responsibilities.
  • Working with individual Editors, learning about and contributing to several areas of specialization that currently exist in the service.


  • JD plus 1+ years’ legal experience.
  • Corporate bankruptcy and/or litigation experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Westlaw/ PACER preferred.
  • Excellent writing and drafting skills, including:
    • close attention to detail;
    • good command of grammar, punctuation and plain English; and
    • ability to write about complex legal issues clearly and succinctly.
  • Analytical and research skills, and ability to identify key relevant information from sources.
  • Ability to work efficiently and within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent IT, administrative and organization skills.
  • Excellent team working skills.
