Job Description

Role Overview:

Are you looking to put your technology savvy skills to use while building business acumen? Are you interested in learning more about the growing field of Service Integration and Management (SIAM)? If so, Thomson Reuters has the internship for you.

As a Service and Integration Management Intern, you will help improve and maintain the processes for managing large, third-party relationships, leveraging the SIAM methodology. This includes reviewing the service and planned deliverables, creating remediation plans and seeing these to fruition. Additionally, you will develop reporting and analysis around existing relationships to highlight opportunities and process improvements. You will also be involved in creating contractual work orders should any be required during your placement.


Depending on business needs, you will be responsible for some or all of the following areas:

  • Analyze trends and data from delivery reports (e.g. velocity and project status reports), identify Delivery Improvement activities and drive these to resolution
  • Analyze trends and data from Service reports, identify Service Improvement activities and help deliver against these Service Improvements
  • Review SIAM contract to identify areas that are not being fulfilled
  • Identify and drive delivery improvement projects
  • Review the service supply chain to determine where suppliers aren’t aligned to overall Service Level Agreements
  • Define and validate acceptance criteria for each new implementation
  • Review service metrics and provide recommendations of changes required to drive up service.
  • Provide management reporting in line with established Service Integration processes and requirements
  • Other duties as defined

Skills & Profile:

Essential skills:

  • Strong creative problem solving and issue resolution skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate to both technical and non-technical users
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize work and communicate issues in a timely manner
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong problem analysis approach

Preferred skills:

  • Understanding of Agile and Waterfall approach to software development life cycle
  • Understanding of ITIL Service Management


  • Currently a junior or senior pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Operations, or related discipline meeting program academic requirements
