Job Description

Position Title: Head of Cloud Engineering

Description

Develop, implement, and drive the technology and strategy for the Onvio Site Reliability Engineering Group.  There are four focus areas: enhancing and automating our cloud product offerings; developing best practices for cloud product deployment, monitoring, and load testing; ensuring these cloud products are deployed in a cost effective and secure manner; finally, this position is responsible for product conversions including developing strategies and utilities to migrate customer data from competitor and legacy products to our cloud offerings.

 

Key Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor all Cloud operations that will enable Onvio and OnBalance to develop a single, flexible, agile and open platform.

  • Lead all Cloud operations globally including managing highly technical engineers across the Operations, Deployment and Dev/Ops teams, and Product Conversions teams.

  • Monitor and oversee day to day traffic, data, computer and user management for Cloud, as well as all network operations, while adhering to development goals, principles and costs

  • Work across Thomson Reuters and within TRTA to execute Onvio and OnBalance Operational goals, carefully considering short and long-term risks and gains while bringing value to the market as efficiently and effectively as possible

  • Interface and work collaboratively with all Development and QA teams globally

  • Establish and maintain a collaborative, team-based cross-functional management approach that fosters engagement, consensus and collaboration;

Required Experience:

  • Deep understanding of development modern cloud based products.

  • Experience and understanding of the tax and accounting profession.

  • Proven track record of developing successful software products for the profession.

  • Ability to facilitate and present formal presentations at the executive level and demonstrated executive presence.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills for liaison with external customers and internal staff at all levels.

  • Highly motivated with ability to drive results.

  • Extensive progressive experience working in software industry, including managing teams and leading large groups.

  • A self-motivated individual who is able to take ownership of and work concurrently on multiple initiatives.

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.

  • Able to work with multiple technical and business groups in a large globally based organization.

  • Proven ability to establish and develop relationships with all key stakeholders to facilitate a truly collaborative approach across the enterprise, identify potential conflicts and deliver consensus solutions in support of business strategies.

Solid track record of effective leadership including change management, and developing and mentoring staff.
