Assistant Research Analyst - Greater China

Job Description

Position Summary  

Working in the World-Check Risk Screening product, the Assistant Research Analyst is required to maintain accurate information currency to support the growth of Thomson Reuters’ Content business across the region.  

Essential Responsibilities

  • Undertakes timely and accurate research as an essential member of the research team:
  • Maintain research data currency on breaking world events
  • Conduct in-depth research on specific international issues
  • Analyse a wide range of data sources and produce structured reports

Reporting and Relationships

  • Reports to China Research Team Leader
  • Interacts with other research team colleagues from same office and other countries

Required Skills and Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of China's political and economic system is mandatory as this role supports clients in China
  • Must be fluent in English and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) due to the specific client base responsibility across the China region
  • Must posses excellent research (internet), analytical and writing skills
  • Must be proficient with MS Office and working in an online environment
  • Excellent ability to work independently, multitask and meet tight deadlines.
  • Must exhibit excellent professionalism - highly motivated, efficient ad ability to manage stress
  • Must exhibit a can-do attitude
  • Must posses keen understanding of the world political environment and general country knowledge

Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in international relations, political science, sociology, security studies or other social sciences fields. Outstanding recent graduates will also be considered.
