Thomson Reuters Commodities Research seeks an experienced analyst to help develop and maintain models of refined products trade flow, supply and demand, and price. The role is based in London, UK and will focus on the European region. Candidates will have extensive experience in the oil markets, be expert in market fundamentals, and be proficient in statistical and numerical computation. Preferred candidates will demonstrate ability to synthesize large and diverse datasets and to communicate insight in clear and concise prose. 

Responsibilities:

  • Support and lead development of Refined Product trade flows in the Atlantic basin, including model development, assessment and forecasts of flows and arbitrage trade, and benchmarking
  • Manage and/or execute projects on Oil Trade flows with full accountability for quality and timeliness
  • Develop and maintain core analytical and technical Eikon products and research reports
  • Communicate results in reports, presentations, and client calls

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in the oil markets (or a relevant advanced degree and three years' experience) with specialist knowledge of refined products trade in Atlantic basin
  • Strong grounding in statistics with proficiency in one or more environments for statistical and numerical modeling
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct, analyze, and report primary research
  • Knowledge of Matlab (preferred) and/or R would be desirable
  • Knowledge of Thomson Reuters Oil research products would be desirable
