Operates independently on assigned projects. Is often asked to represent Thomson Reuters on major negotiations. Assignments involve a significant annual spend and/or critical purchases for Thomson Reuters.
Has a thorough understanding of manufacturing needs, purchasing processes, and the roles and responsibilities of buyers. Consults with users to define what service or product needs to be acquired. Understands business drives behind purchases.
Identifies potential suppliers and develops RFPs for services or products. Develops a competitive scenario and work with suppliers to develop proposals. Facilitate analysis of supplier proposals.
Works with buyers to get their input on contract requirements and to implement sound purchasing practices for contract purchases. Evaluates and makes recommendations on negotiating practices to continually improve the process.
Arranges and conducts periodic contract reviews with suppliers and users to ensure compliance with terms and continued fit with business needs.
