Reuters is seeking an experienced newsroom leader with a strong record of excellent news judgment. The Managing Editor for News will be the principal deputy for news for the Americas, steering our efforts to win breaking news stories and drive deeper initiatives that set Reuters apart. Reporting to the Regional Editor, the Managing Editor for News will combine a demonstrated ability to run large teams and drive organizational change aimed at producing great journalism and creating opportunity for our journalists.
The Managing Editor for News will lead our daily effort to break news and tell stories in a way that integrates text with video, pictures and graphics and other media. As part of this, he or she will help set our news priorities and be closely involved with individual stories, working with teams of journalists to take early-stage ideas and develop them into successful reporting projects.
This editor will work closely with the Managing Editor for Strategy & Operations, who also reports to the Regional Editor. Together, this leadership team will be responsible for ensuring we produce great journalism, cultivate a healthy newsroom culture and develop our best journalists.
