Features Legal Analyst

Job Description

Provide project and product management functions with respect to the acquisition, planning, design, development, release, and maintenance of new content features and functionality for relevant product systems.  Partner with other departments to manage the development of new and maintenance of existing product lines.

Provide legal interpretation and expertise (analysis, research, and features creation) to support the development of online functionality and infrastructure, ensuring that systems deliver intended results to customers. This will include the creation, modification, testing, and maintenance of subjective view queries to support online products.  Position also requires the elicitation from and verification of requirements with internal customers, verification of own work for accuracy and completeness, and analysis, research, and resolution of quality errors. 

  • A JD with 5+ years experience in Boolean query syntax and design and/or research using Westlaw.
  • Strong use of relevant systems and technology tools.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of database publishing requirements.
  • Knowledge of relevant product types.
    Ability to work well in interdependent teams with demanding schedules.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders and management.
  • Detail-oriented with an aptitude for analysis and problem solving including ability to interpret, analyze, and organize detailed legal material.
  • Demonstrated legal research and writing skills. Demonstrated knowledge of legal terminology, court structure, and legislative and regulatory levels.
  • Demonstrated process, product, and systems knowledge, teamwork and technical skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude for advanced computer applications and systems including extensive knowledge of computer assisted legal research.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external colleagues / customers.
  • Good project management skills with ability to prioritize and stay focused while dealing with multiple assignments and tasks.
  • Ability to lead and work with team members, contacts from other teams, departments, virtual and partners effectively.
  • Clearly understands the relationship between the data and the design.
  • Ability to remain flexible and accept and manage changing requirements in a fast paced environment
  • Prior database experience beneficial.
  • Demonstrated skill proficiency in process, product, and systems knowledge, teamwork, and technical skills preferred.
  • Has working knowledge of business and industry, products, systems and processes.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize concurrent projects and adhere to challenging deadlines
  • Ability to adapt and change quickly to meet the needs of an emerging project
