Creative Designer/Digital Design

(6-month contract)

Purpose:

To provide creating innovative, engaging e-products and to provide creative design services for Media print, electronic and online products.

This position is responsible for:

  • engaging directly with stakeholders on the development of e-product designs and concepts;
  • consulting with sales and customers to understand needs and create innovative designs;
  • providing assistance to external customers in digital and print ad design;
  • recommending and providing solutions for editorial content presentation on Media websites to provide excellent customer experience;
  • contributing to e-product and digital best practices;
  • driving product excellence by creating visuals, including infographics, which best illustrate the message to be communicated while providing a consistent look and feel for the brand/product;
  • working on products through creative planning, design and final production across formats – print, digital;
  • photo editing;
  • commissioning original illustrations/photography;
  • prioritizing daily workflow to meet needs, tight deadlines and challenges while managing a variety of projects; and
  • collaborating with editorial, sales, production and marketing.

You will be a strong team player and will possess:

  • formal art and design training  (college degree or diploma);
  • 3+ years design experience in publishing;
  • advanced experience with Adobe Creative Suite on Mac platform;
  • advanced experience with Dreamweaver (or other tools to design as well as create HTML, CSS, General CMS experience);
  • strong design skills and the ability to convey complex ideas in a straightforward and visually-appealing manner;
  • the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment;
  • a keen eye for detail and excellent organizational skills;
  • the ability to be a self-starter with strong communication, interpersonal and collaborative relationship building skills;
  • customer service skills with the ability to receive and incorporate feedback/input from individuals across all levels of the organization; and
  • the ability to interact professionally with external and internal clients.
