Senior Transaction Sales

Job Description

This position is responsible for developing a territory by prospecting Equity & Futures Transactions clients. The individual will grow Equity & Futures revenue by identifying, prospecting and signing hedge funds and asset managers to our Transaction products, capturing trading volume earned by understanding the clients’ needs and leveraging our solutions to meet them every day. Often acting as a member of the account team, the individual develops and executes account strategy for Transaction growth collaborating with account team and/or other business units to deliver a comprehensive product offering to meet overall customer needs

Candidates must have previous sales and/or trading experience and will also have sold in the Equities & Futures market. We are looking for individuals with a proven track record for closing new sales, establishing deep relationships with Equities & Futures clients across banks, hedge funds in East & West. You will not only be selling to new clients, you will also be onboarding new clients and develop customised solutions for client trading, workflow and STP requirements. You are a self starter, have strong diagnostic and problem solving capability, be an innovative thinker and able to deal with high stress situations in a dynamic environment.

This role will be located in either Paris, Frankfurt, Zurich or London with frequent travelling involved.


  • Prospecting an assigned territory
  • Meets quotas for clients signed and volume traded or revenue earned
  • Establishes strong, long-term customer relationships and cultivate new business opportunities. Continues to maintain relationships with key decision makers.
  • Applies knowledge of business and its constituent workflows to conceive and position value-added solutions to promote sales and revenue growth.
  • Collaborates with account team and/or other business units where required and has oversight of all account activities.
  • Responsible for forecasting, keeps management in touch with accounts in a timely fashion, gathers intelligence on competitor activity, and gives feedback to other internal stakeholders. Acts as point of contact for the client, provides escalation path to and from Service and attends to customer issues promptly as appropriate.
  • Tracks customer activity in internal systems in order to execute on account strategy and identify additional opportunities.
  • May provide customer product training as necessary.
  • Advances the sale, application and evolution of products within accounts.
  • Maintains up to date product knowledge on all products and solutions.
  • Accountable for individual expense budget management.
  • Demonstrates skills in managing and handling sales across accounts.
  • Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Prior experience successfully selling equities and/or futures trading solutions
  • Strong understanding of hedge fund and asset manager trading business models and workflows.
  • Strong understanding of electronic trading uses and existing offerings
  • Deep domain knowledge of equities and futures electronic trading & Execution Management Systems used
  • Relationship building skills.
  • Selling skills (identity, develop and articulate a complex proposition/consultative selling).
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop and execute a sales plan, ability to use a variety of technology with a high level of proficiency.
  • Problem solving--ability to understand, articulate, structure and solve client needs.
  • Presentation and communication skills: ability to deliver presentations and communicate at all levels within an organization.
  • Ability to collaborate with account team

  • Knowledge of Thomson Reuters products and services
  • Experience working in a global matrix environment
  • Fluency in German and English is a must
