The Thomson Reuters Enterprise Platform integrates, distributes, and adds value to information from and about the markets. This includes real-time and historical prices from data vendors, exchanges, and brokers; real-time and historical news from the press, the web and internal analysts; as well as internal calculations and other forms of proprietary information used to support crucial decisions.

We are seeking a highly motivated Quality Assurance Engineer with 3-5 years of experience in testing Enterprise platform software. As a tester on our team, you will work closely with a very experienced development team to verify the quality of our industry-leading financial data distribution software. As a member of our team you will be involved in writing test cases/scripts, test case automation and execution of all testing required to ensure that the software meets business requirements. You will perform functional testing which includes systems/network integration and acceptance testing. Your responsibilities will also include non-functional testing such as performance, stress, load and fallback.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides planning, integration, scripting, and execution of all testing required of a single software change or project
  • Independently develops test plan documents, writes and executes automation scripts, manual test cases etc.
  • Reviews business requirements and designs specifications for low to moderately complex changes/systems for completeness and testability
  • Setup and maintain lab for functional and performance testing
  • Conducts testing using manual, programmatic or automated processes
  • Provides inputs and escalates issues in triage/scrum meetings and coordinates with development team
  • Conducts root cause analysis and correlation of other system and/or problems of moderate complexity
  • Reviews and contributes toward product and internal documentation – technical specifications, software documentation and unit test plans
  • Assists in reproduction and verification of field problems as needed
  • Handle multiple, complex technical projects and have the flexibility to work in a very dynamic environment

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of software Quality Assurance experience
  • Experience with manual, programmatic and automated testing methodologies
  • Solid experience with Solaris, and Linux operating systems, including Shell scripting, Perl, Python and basic system administration
  • Strong, demonstrated analytical troubleshooting skills
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Market data industry experiences a strong plus; experience with RMDS/TREP products a strong plus; experience with Microsoft Windows a plus
  • Bachelors degree in CS, Engineering or equivalent experience
