Job Description

The Client Programs Manager is a member of the Client Services Team within Global Creative Services. Global Creative Services operates as the in-house marketing agency to all the Thomson Reuters businesses—Legal, Financial and Risk, Tax and Accounting, Global Growth Organization and Corporate Enterprise.  This position will focus on one or more of those businesses.

The Client Programs Manager supports the Chief Marketing Officer and functional Business Leaders in one or more of the Thomson Reuters business units. They are responsible for developing and maintaining relationships between the business and GCS at the senior level. Those relationships position them to be a trusted partner with business leaders and allow them to understand strategic objectives so they are able to recommend Programs that bring together multiple cross channel marketing motions (social, digital, direct, email, events, etc) to help the business achieve their objectives. 

The Client Programs Manager will interface regularly with the Client Services Manager and Project Managers assigned to the marketing segments to support the need for consistency of messaging and campaign creative across the business as well as provide Business Unit leadership within GCS. They build awareness of GCS capabilities and showcase industry best practices to marketing partners across one or more Thomson Reuters business units. 

The Client Programs Manager will have insight into the marketing plans, goals and strategies of their assigned business. They will be in the position to recommend and ideate on appropriate campaign tactics.

Main Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Support planning, coordinating, scaling and implementation of successful marketing programs:
    • Partner with clients to understand business strategy and support the development of marketing program plans
    • Implement plans by driving the development of cross channel marketing programs based on business strategy
    • Liaise with Project Managers to ensure best-of-class implementation of programs within GCS including supporting resolution of challenges related to schedules, budgets, and project communication for Program tactics
    • Drive cross-functional stakeholder conversations, timelines, and deliverables for successful program launch in partnership with Project Manager
  • Effectively interact with management and client groups at all levels to support strategic deliverables
  • Lead and participate in presentations associated with standard Global Creative Services protocols
  • Serves as the advocate for the client within Global Creative Services, and the advocate for Global Creative Services with the business 
  • Awareness and knowledge of Thomson Reuters brand standards and escalates issues
  • Present department capabilities to generate awareness, add value and establish strong client relationships within the region

Essential Skills/Experience Required:

  • Experience planning, developing and managing strategic marketing programs across multiple channels: email, web, onsite and through third party media
  • Demonstrate a high level of professional judgment, commitment, integrity and teamwork.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams (whether in the same or remote locations)
  • Excellent problem solving skills and knowledge of when to take initiative and when to escalate
  • Motivated to learn and adopt new technology and principles
  • A strong knowledge of and a demonstrated ability to keep up with changing marketing techniques
  • Leader in marcom best practices in traditional and new media.
  • Highly Organized.
  • Results Orientated
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive and take the initiative to get things done
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once (flexible and self-sufficient)
  • Ability to work well in a team environment

Education/ Certifications:

  • College degree required, preferred areas in Business, Marketing, Marketing Communications or related field and minimum 15 years agency experience with account support experience.
  • MBA preferred
  • Agency (internal or external) experience a must, specifically management of campaigns from concept to implementation across a variety of disciplines.
  • Supervisory experience (preferred)
