Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Front-End Developer to fuel the launch of a new digital experience for one of our cloud products and to scale it across new markets and product lines. The Front-End Developer will optimize our technical development activities through digital channels by elevating and expanding our digital technology development approach. This position will create both rapid prototypes, usually in 2 to 3 weeks, as well as full-scale applications typically within 2 to 3 months, by working collaboratively and iteratively through design and development to deliver fully functioning web-based and mobile applications that meet business goals

The team will be operating in a fast-paced, dynamic, startup environment, and employ agile methodologies to quickly provide customers and employees with the solutions they need.  We are looking for a candidate with an entrepreneurial spirit, passion in software engineering, highly customer-driven, enthusiasm to hit the ground running and to make a significant impact on the business. 

Responsibilities

  • Delivers high-quality software in a predictable and sustainable manner.
  • Apply modern front-end technologies (web and mobile native) using modern frameworks with to rapidly develop creative and efficient user experiences
  • Collaborate with agile team members to develop clear user stories and testable products that can be deployed in an iterative manner to users
  • Engage effectively with business stakeholders on the value/effort trade-offs for new or enhances product capabilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years expert experience in HTML5/CSS/JavaScript and building mobile, responsive/adaptive web applications
  • Strong experience with tooling and the webapp development stack like Grunt/Gulp, Bower, npm etc.
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum/Agile or Kanban software development processes
  • Strong professional experience with one or more JavaScript MVC frameworks (e.g., Angular JS, React, Backbone, etc.), preferably Angular JS
  • Experience or working knowledge of at least one of the following programming languages: C#, Java, Node JS, Ruby on Rails, Python
  • Experience writing or utilizing RESTful API services, performance tuning user experiences and supporting multiple browsers
  • Experience working in a design/UX driven environment is an advantage
  • Customer oriented approach with strong skills in influencing, negotiation, complex problem solving and conflict management
  • Savvy, adept and comfortable in a complex structure involving corporate level relationships, multi-division / business unit involvement, and matrix reporting
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Results oriented with strong time management skills, highly organized and driven to succeed
  • Entrepreneurial approach, innovative, passionate, self-starter. Persistence despite obstacles or setbacks, comfort with ambiguity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to influence at all levels within the organization and across all functions with a team-oriented style
  • Flexibility in adjusting to new, different and changing business requirements and decisions
