Position Summary

The Senior Manager, M&A and Reseach Contributions role in Asia will have two primary mandates:

Contributor Relations - managing leading investment banks and law firms in support of deals submissions and Expert-level support of Thomson Reuters Deals offerings. The candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with multi-level contacts in Sell-side Research and Mergers & Acquisitions in Asia, supporting Thomson Reuters' Deals content and product strategy. 

Role Responsibilities

  • Customer service for multiple data contributors (bankers and lawyers, including acquisition of new contributors), in-depth analysis of investment banking transaction activity, and support on Deals product and content enhancements
  • Solid background in finance and excellent communication skills
  • Identify, build and maintain relationships with M&A and Research contributors through regular contact via email, phone and meetings
  • As broker relations manager should be able to acquire new contents (research & estimates) from brokers and IRPs (Independent Research Providers)
  • Expand the contributor base of Research contributors and dealmakers to increase participation and response to surveys and also help increase TR’s Research offering in the region
  • Identify and propose new content enhancements and strategy based on continuous engagement with data contributor firms
  • Provide expert-level Research and league table management, including management of league table criteria and be able to address challenges on Research contribution for the region
  • Work closely with the commercial team in demonstrating the value proposition for our Research and M&A products, including raising Sales Leads and providing support to various commercial activities
  • Demonstrate the value of Deals content to internal commercial teams, clients, and prospects
  • Work with the Deals Intelligence team to increase the distribution of press releases and league tables
  • Provide regular monthly reporting and ad hoc feedback on request and participate in other ad-hoc project work as determined    

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and/or 5-10 years of financial industry experience.
  • Background on Sell-Side Research or Investment Banking or M&A is preferred. Good understanding of Equity Research operations/workflows & analyst activities is good to have.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Cantonese or Mandarin language capability is good to have.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of regulatory environments in Asia is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented.  The position requires a proactive person who can work under pressure with remote management and supervision.
  • Experience in customer relationship management is a plus
  • Solid analytical skills to resolve complex issues and derive creative solutions to exceed customer expectations
  • Demonstrates sense of urgency, energy, drive and enthusiasm
  • Demonstrated capability to develop and maintain wide internal and external relationship network
  • Must be personable and able to deal with all levels within an organization.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Above average organizational, and problem-solving skills
