RESPONSIBILITIES With little supervision but with direction from the Brazil Development Manager, you will: - Ensure clarity of communications between the Brazilian Development team and their global colleagues. - Serve as liaison between Development and colleagues from the wider organization (for example, Sales, Marketing, and Support). - Assist in developing and delivering Development progress reports and presentations -- from highly detailed reports for Development staff to high-level executive presentations. - Monitor and report progress on complex software development projects relative to schedules, budgets, and quality. - Define, document, and manage projects under both traditional and Agile methodologies, actively participating in all phases of the project life cycle. - Manage and track project forecasts. - Identify, assess, communicate, and manage risks and issues. - Effectively manage project team conflicts, identify and resolve areas of confusion, build collaborative partnerships with stakeholders, and facilitate commitment and decision making. - Prepare and maintain project plans and track activities against the plan. - Implement an effective project communication plan and operating rhythm, including provision of regular and accurate reporting. - Manage change control, gaining agreement for revisions from project stakeholders. - The global nature of the project team will require some flexibility in working hours in order to ensure sufficient interaction across time zones. Some travel may be required. QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, communications, computer science, information technology, or similar discipline. - Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus. REQUIRED / DESIRED SKILLS Required skills and experience include: - Must be fluent in both English and Portuguese, in both written and verbal communication. - Five or more years of experience working on software-development projects, either as a manager or lead contributor. - Experience working with cross-functional, technical teams across several locations and time zones. - Demonstrated project planning and management skills, including working knowledge of project management methodology. - Ability to manage projects with minimal supervision. - Ability to interact with senior management and business stakeholders. - Excellent communication and presentation skills. - Ability to synthesize complex, technical details from disparate sources into concise, written reports for stakeholders at all levels. - Knowledge of resource allocation, budgeting, and project planning and scheduling. Desired skills and experience include: - Experience in the tax and accounting industry. - Knowledge of Agile and traditional software-development project management. - Spanish language skills.
