The Programmatic Ad Operations Specialist role is a full time position at our New York City office. You will be supporting the programmatic team in driving growth of the annual programmatic revenue target, compiling and analyzing reporting, and managing day to day programmatic operations.

The Programmatic Ad Operations Specialist will report to the Head of Programmatic Strategy & Operations, and will work very closely with the Sales, Product, Ad Operations and Front-End Engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Supply Side Platforms (SSPs), exchanges, and other tech platforms
  • Analyze our programmatic business, make proactive recommendations to increase yield
  • Manage our header bidder reporting, troubleshoot issues and discrepancies
  • Execute updates to price floors and targeting
  • Traffic ad tags in Doubleclick for Publishers (DFP) and troubleshoot any issues
  • Execute programmatic guaranteed campaigns
  • Investigate and evaluate with potential new revenue partners
  • Assist in solving billing and revenue reporting issues

Desired Skills and Experience

While this is an entry level position, the ideal candidate will have an understanding of digital ad operations and a familiarity with the programmatic ecosystem.  Knowledge of programmatic header bidding, SSPs/DSPs, DFP, and analytics/reporting systems is preferred, but a smart, adaptable, and driven candidate can be successful even without direct experience in the field.

  • Entry Level (1-2 years experience working in online advertising a plus)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, v-lookups)
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational, planning and problem-solving skills with proven ability to identify and prioritize critical issues
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Basic knowledge of the SSP landscape, including but not limited to Google AdX, Rubicon, OpenX, AppNexus
  • Desire to maximize revenue
  • Interested in the future of news
  • B.S./B.A. or equivalent
