Thomson Reuters LPC, IFR (International financial review) & PFi (Project Finance International) are the world's most authoritative source of news, data & analysis for the global capital markets and Project finance business. As part of the Americas sales group based in New York and reporting to the regional Sales Manager, the Account Manager has prime responsibility for maintaining strong customer relationships in support of the sales and marketing of the capital market suite of products (LPC, IFR & PFi) in order to retain existing revenue and help develop new business opportunities at current subscribers.
External contacts range from junior sales/trader to desk head level as well as running the relationship with the Market Data group. Internal contacts include frontline sales within TR, Editorial and the Order Management team (raising and checking contracts etc).
The Account Manager will share directly in the success of the whole sales team via a salary plus variable commission package.
Travel will be part of the role with responsibility for managing existing accounts and work with the sales team to identify opportunity in the Americas.
Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
-First point of customer contact for all queries
-Retaining existing revenue and day to day management of accounts
-Generating new business leads within existing accounts
-Supporting sales team with new business trials, training and large evaluation projects
-Building and managing client relationships up to senior level
-Providing product training to existing clients and triallists which includes regular visits to the trading floor and phone support
-Updating clients on new product developments
-Negotiating contract renewals with sales person and point of contact for billing and contract queries
-Developing and maintaining an internal network of relationships with sales, management, billing, and analysts
-Maintaining client and contract information on internal systems
-Providing product feedback from clients to help with product development
-Experience of client facing support and or training preferably in Financial Markets. Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
-Proven ability to be self motivated but also to work in a team to achieve communal goals.
-Excellent PC skills and a good knowledge of Microsoft software packages.
-Knowledge of Fixed Income & Capital markets (inc bonds, equity & Loans).
-Experience of working with clients in a variety of front, middle & back office positions.
