Content Developer

Job Description

We have an exciting 12 month fixed term opportunity for a Content Developer to contribute to two key platforms within our Tax & Accounting business. These two key platforms support our growing professional accounting segment and the largest companies in Australia meet their Tax & Accounting compliance and reporting requirements.

This is a challenging role that will involve a strong focus on testing, timely releases and at times, complex reporting. The ideal candidate will have a software development background from a corporate setting with Accounting qualifications.


Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, your key duties will include (but not be limited to) the following:

XYZ Content Development and testing

  • Assist with the development of the reporting templates from content specifications
  • Develop and review supporting tools and documentation
  • Correct use of defect management system for tracking issues
  • Testing of reporting templates
  • Systems testing of the platforms
  • Correct use of defect management system to track issues

OneSource Reporting project

  • Deliver reports from the platform using JSON/XML/SQL
  • Understand reporting requirements and write reports using JSO/XML/SQL
  • Work with product teams to understand customer requirements and build reports based on those requirements

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will be a software engineer with program language skills in JSON/XML/SQL within a corporate environment. You will have Financial Reporting experience or knowledge and have a strong grasp of Accounting principles and practices (a tertiary qualification is preferred).

You will also bring the following:

  • Account administration knowledge
  • Programming (macro level) knowledge
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel/Word
  • Working knowledge of Software Development processes
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
