We are seeking a talented, high-energy, creative and experienced editor with excellent news judgment, understanding of LGBT-related issues on an international scale, strong writing skills and digital experience to spearhead a new global project covering LGBT rights. You will be UK-based and head a new global initiative to cover under-reported news on LGBT rights. The initiative includes the launch of the world’s first dedicated mainstream, non-advocacy, global LGBT news and information online platform covering and aggregating LGBT stories from multiple sources and featuring leading opinion and analysis, with the aim to initiate online debates and discussions.
Your focus will be to run a file that produces exclusive and unique long and short form stories on LGBT rights with a focus on bringing under-reported issues to light. You will work with the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s award-winning global news team to produce unique stories that have real impact on the lives of LGBT people around the world. You will stay ahead of the curve on legal and policy changes impacting LGBT communities.

The position requires a proven track record in excellent reporting, team management, understanding of LGBT issues, and a desire to spark a global and informed conversation around them.
