Project Summary and Position Overview
Network LAN Support Team is a group within IAAS I & S organization. The group is responsible for Implementation and Support of DCMS infrastructure, meet the business expectations in performance, Up-time, Resiliency, Support and Operation.The group works closely with other DCMS team. Network Engineer will work as a part of Network LAN Support Team to support mission-critical environments. The successful candidate requires a broad range of technical skills, quality customer service, and excellent verbal and written communications skills. The Network Engineer’s role is to provide implementation and support services to all product areas in the Technical Operations Group. The candidate will find efficiencies in the methods of working, adhere to standards within the region, champion improvements by working with development where standards do not meet client or operational requirements, work with other regional groups to ensure consistency of approach, and ensure standards are deployed uniformly across the whole of operations. The position will work closely with Operations, development groups, and the application product implementation and support teams.
Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Implementation and Trouble shooting of Cisco LAN switch, Cisco ACE load balancers, Check Point Firewalls and Cisco firewalls,
- Troubleshooting VLAN and physical connectivity issue
- Add/Modify/Deletion of Virtuals
- Troubleshooting Cisco access-list and NAT issues and routing issues
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues using Wireshark / Tcpdump/snoop
- DNS mapping for Unix based DNS servers
- Perform firewall ACL modifications
- Change management through Service Center
- Enabling access to LAN environment
- Network monitoring e.g. receives exception alerts from monitoring tools. (no eyes on glass, currently being done by EDC data centre team)
- Monitoring and configure access-lists
- Change Execution
- Configuring devices and access-lists in response to trouble tickets. Coordination of equipment replacement with GSOC and service restoration
- Ticket queue monitoring and tracking
- Add all managed devices to TF TACACS environment
- Documentation

Qualifications
Qualification:
- BE in Computer Science or equivalent
Required Skills
- 6+ years of work experience in production Firewall support and Implementation
. knowledge of check Point firewall (Installation, build and troublwshooting)
- Good understanding and hands on experience in Provider 1
Fair understanding on routing and switching
Should be able to take care of tasks specific to the project without(or with minimal) Managers intervention.
Understand the specific project in short span of time and start putting the missing documentation and work towards accomplish the objectives.
- Ability to work independently at the same time provide timely status update
- Good interpersonal, oral and written communications skills
- Ability to handle multi-tasking and frequently changing priorities
- Problem Resolution Skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Self Starter, Team Player.
- Ability to work in a global virtual team’s environment.
- Ability to Priorities Work.
Any Certifications Required:
- ITIL V3 Certification
- CCNA, CCNP, CCSA
