Position
Financial & Risk Strategy Manager, Latin America
Location
Buenos Aires, Argentina
Main purpose for the Job:
Responsible for designing and delivering strategy work to the Director of Strategy for Latin America and the regional leadership team.
The work is a combination of designing organic growth and acquisition strategy across multiple markets in Latin America, performing due diligence and deal evaluation, and optimization of BU performance (operational analysis).
This role is based in a fast-paced and constantly-changing environment and requires strategic insight, an appreciation for emerging markets, a strong ability to digest large amounts of information and a facility to respond to conflicting priorities.
Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities
This role will be accountable for the following:
- Structures and leads workstreams including business unit or company strategies, acquisition pipeline development, the strategy planning process, or key operational issues (such as driving efficiency, sales force optimization, etc.).
- Identifies market opportunities by synthesizing large amounts of market data, interacts with colleagues from multiple areas and interviews clients/potential clients.
- Acts as a liason between the local Latin American Financial & Risk teams and the global Financial & Risk teams.
- Plays a lead role in building a strong strategy team community and culture.
Essential Responsibilities
- Carries out complex research and analysis on a stand-alone basis as part of their workstream.
- Takes thought leadership role in problem solving and developing recommendations.
- Takes the results to a logical and relevant end product, with minimum supervision.
- Creates deliverables, including reports, spreadsheets, presentations and other outputs to document and communicate findings.
- Independently interacts and collaborates with mid and senior-level stakeholders
- Becomes “expert” on broad area
- Manages junior staff indirectly on workstreams.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Strategy work experience (either with a consulting firm or a major corporate)
- Knowledge of the financial industry
- Must have at least 4 years of working experience
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Fluency in English and either Spanish or Portuguese
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience in or exposure to investment banking, brokerage or sales and trading
- Education / Certifications (Specific degrees and/or certifications required or preferred):
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required from a top-tier university; MBA preferred
