Builds, leads, and manages a team of
sales,
field sales and key account management staff to increase penetration and revenue in the Chinese legal market, and to proactively maintain and develop excellent customer relationships.
Works closely with the product management, editorial, marketing, customer service, and other groups within the company to develop a deep understanding of customer needs and segments to help develop and deliver the service to customers.
Major Areas of Accountability:
- Creates and implements sales and marketing strategies to achieve sales targets.
Ensures that the appropriate sales channels are used for the different types of segments and customers.
- Develops and manages an organization that is appropriately balanced between a focus on achieving new sales and maintaining renewal sales, with the early years focused on launch and the new sales pipeline.
- Works with Product Manager and Finance to set commercial targets and renewal rates, develop pricing and discount policies, and to prepare a sales and marketing budget.

and other best practices to establish sales processes, sales pipeline management, targets, and tracking mechanisms.
- Develops a brand strategy and ensures brand attributes are understood throughout the business and by customers.
Ensures marketing communications are consistent with brand strategy and the sales/marketing plan.
- Ensures marketing activities generate good quality leads to support sales team activities.
- Drives successful execution of complex deals and negotiations with multiple decision makers both internal and within target prospect organisations.
- Establishes and maintains a clear understanding of customers needs and communicates this to relevant internal teams to improve service and product and grow revenues.
- Establishes and monitors sales and marketing metrics on an on-going basis, and keeps company management updated on plans, achievement of results, and status of key accounts.
- Maintains on-going intelligence on competitors and establishes strategy for beating competitors.
- Recruits, develops, and retains staff with the appropriate skills and competencies needed for the business.
Monitors performance of team members and applies appropriate performance management or development mechanisms if changes are needed.

Qualifications
Experience:
- Previous experience of managing a sales and marketing team of similar size and scope with a demonstrable track record of driving team performance to excel targets.
- Experience of selling online information services or similar.
- Ability to travel extensively.
