The Team Lead, Messaging SMTP role will be responsible for providing overall technical direction for the daily support and administration of global Messaging SMTP services. - Responsible for a team of five employees, along with partnering with members globally including the Messaging Exchange team.

- Provide team leadership to ensure effective support for the internal and external SMTP and supporting systems. This includes critical services such as Sentrion appliances, SMTP relay servers, LDAP, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam and Lyris.
- Hands-on required and significant participation for escalated support activities is expected including highly technical problem solving.
- Management of SMTP mail environment supporting inbound/outbound corporate email and external revenue producing services. This includes Sentrion appliances, Sendmail SMTP relay servers, directory services, anti-virus, anti-Spam, and policy set.
- Management and support of Lyris email list hosting application.
- Assist in management and support of mail flow and routing connectors to Exchange systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Tier III SMTP related issues following established protocol and procedures.
- Handle production issues in an efficient manner and recommend preventative steps for the future.
- Work with the business units, Architects, and Security teams to determine adherence of hardware/software needs with security and architectural standards and directions of SMTP solutions.
- Follow up on operational issues that arise and fine-tune the expectations to address gaps or make changes as appropriate.

- Help implement technical strategy for the Windows team, including adoption of new tools and procedures.
- Participate in technical initiatives across the workgroup such as Operating System life cycle management or PCI audit compliance.
- Technical resource for the solutions design process.
- Support enterprise environment with ~8000 Intel-based Windows 2000, 2003, 2008 servers, including patching and other related software/agents.

Qualifications

Education:

BS (or higher) in relevant field
- Minimum of 10 years experience ideally on networks of over 10,000 users in a design, architecture, or R&D role
- Strong understanding of design, protocol, and platform best practices
- Expert level (hands on) knowledge of MPLS, MP-BGP, LDP, RSVP, OSPF
- Strong (hands on) knowledge of Multicast
- Low latency experience
- Hands-on experience with Cisco CRS-1, 7600, 6500, Nexus, Juniper (MX)
- Experience with test tools (e.g. Smartbits, traffic generators, etc) and simulation tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability (and desire) to clearly and thoroughly document complex standards
- Motivated self starter, ability to drive projects to completion
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience with JUNOS (and Juniper platforms) is a big plus
- Any quantifiable project management skills, certifications, or experience is a plus
- Working knowledge of carrier technologies such as SONET, SDH, DWDM, and Ethernet services
- CCIE Service provider is highly desirable, although any CCIE is acceptable. Scrum certification or PMP/PMI desired

Text Metadata Services (TMS) is a Research and Development group within Thomson Reuters that develops and maintains platforms and products that extract and resolve named entities, classify documents, extract facts and events, and enable entity-centric content analysis and decision support for use cases in financial, legal, scientific and other domains.

Software Engineer will be responsible for the designing and implementing various components of text processing systems using state of the art machine learning, information retrieval and NLP algorithms. As part of the TMS team, you will work with other experts from across the company in areas such as artificial intelligence, information retrieval, machine translation, modeling, algorithm design, categorization, entity extraction, search and more.

Previous Experience

Software Engineer will need to have at-least one year of software development experience and broad knowledge of various IS technologies as well as knowledge in the areas of server side Java development, parallel programming, full text indexing and search technologies, taxonomies, entity extraction techniques, distributed processing and strong NLP experience.



Education

A degree in computer science or related field with significant exposure to machine learning, natural language processing, text analysis, data mining and distributed systems

Required Knowledge and Skills
- 2+ years of experience programming in server side/Core Java
- Knowledge of: Templates, Patterns, principles of distributed architecture, full text indexing and context searches as well as debugging and testing tools and methodologies.
- Candidate should have an extremely strong background in mathematics and expert knowledge of algorithms.
- Good understanding of algorithms, performance optimization techniques, and object-oriented programming.
- Experienced in multithreaded programming and parallel algorithms.
- Exposure to financial industry is desirable but not necessary.Desired Skills
- Knowledge and experience with machine learning algorithms such as support vector machines, Markov models, and Bayesian algorithms.
- Knowledge of building of Ultra low latency systems on low bandwidth and low level protocols
