The SDK project aims at delivering development tools and programming interfaces for developers to quickly produce applications published on Eikon Library. These tools and APIs are more than simple technical artifacts: like any product directly used by customers, Thomson Reuters brand perception depends on their quality.
In this context, this position will participate in the design and implementation of development tools:
- Professional-grade APIs, in line with current .NET API patterns and modern practices. These APIs cover financial data, platform services, Eikon integration services and general application logic and data binding;
- UI control library. This includes common controls, layout controls as defined by graphic designers, and may include business-specific controls.
- Visual Studio extensions for easy creation of a new application, good productivity during the code change/compile/test cycle, and one-click publication on Eikon library.

Day to day responsabilities :
- Produce and maintain quality code, in line with programming practices recognized as good practices in the software industry, like ‘SOLID’ code, and specifically for C# / .NET technology;
- Design new APIs with the team, apply scenario-driven API design approach;
- Contribute to SDK documentation;
- Contribute to keep the code base clean and refactorable, maintain a high unit test code coverage.
- Stay focused on improving the customer experience, in this case the developer experience;
- Help design APIs and tools that integrate seamlessly in .NET 4 and 4.5 framework;
- Ensure that development goals are well defined, participate in clarifications, request scenarios and use cases, elicit requirements;
- Ensure that the development means meet ends; remind KISS, YAGNI and NIH when relevant;
- Help implement a sound Agile method of work, from requirement to delivery.

Qualifications

Education : Bachelor/Masters/PhD degree in Computer Science

Required skills and experience :
- Minimum 3 yrs. experience in C#.
- Experience with WPF.
- Experience in consuming various APIs and frameworks, ability to assess API quality, intuitiveness, robustness, documentation, etc.

This position of QA Engineer will responsible to the quality of RFA product. He/She is required to be profound in test design and execution in order to capture defects and suggest for correction. Along with testing knowledge, the position will always look into code and utilize programming language in order to create test tool calling API. Qualifications
- Vous aimez coder, et savez aussi prendre du recul et communiquer un design, une architecture, une nouveauté technique.
- De formation supérieure en informatique, vous justifiez d’une expérience dans la conception et la maintenance de framework et d’APIs consommés par de multiples clients.
- Vous avez mis en œuvre de nombreuses APIs, tant propriétaires qu’open-sources, et êtes ainsi en mesure de juger de la qualité d’une API et de la qualité d’une documentation d’API.
- Vous connaissez les pratiques techniques communément admises comme bénéfiques -- tests unitaires, couplage faible, refactoring, mocking frameworks, etc. Vous savez les faire connaitre à l’équipe et savez les faire évoluer et en apprendre de nouvelles.

Job Duties:
- Provide leadership and vision to the Video team by developing yearly and quarterly plans, and regularly update F&R ELT with evaluation and progress on plans
- Lead a cross functional team of 30-40 resources including contractors and employees
- Evaluate the emerging digital landscape and provide product and technical direction to the video team
- Innovate and introduce new ideas. Leverage prototypes and working code as needed to sell the concept
- Build new products using Cable/Broadcast Live streams and leverage metadata from closed captioning to create an intelligent viewing mode for internet/mobile consumption
- Oversee second generation digital video player design and development and decisions around streaming protocols
- Lead creation of API based toolkit for clients to use so that they can easily integrate Reuters Insider into their product offering using a set of APIs, webservices and embed players
- Evolve Javascript based player and playlist embed code for client use
- Leverage webservices based architechture
- Leverage Agile methodology (a simplified version of RUP) for product development
- Guide the development and product teams through application design, development, testing and deployment
- Provide product expertise to ensure that the video search is optimized so that users can find the right content and jump to the section that’s most relevant to them.
- Work with technology team on initiating, managing, deploying and supporting multiple development iterations simultaneously
- Provide expertise to technology team in scoping out interface and integrations with other Thomson Reuters products eg Street Events, Messenger etc. Lead reporting integration/interface development with client systems as well as for key partners like Corporate Services (Nasdaq). MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Strategy, Leadership & Communications (30%)
- Partner with business/technology leadership to envision content enabled workflow technology which sets the strategic direction of the business
- Collaborate closely with Thomson Reuters technology groups including Data Center, Corporate and Platform groups, Content Marketplace, and other Architect communities within Thomson Reuters to understand resources and assets available to the GRC business
- Ability to make formal and informal technical presentations and recommendations to senior executives and and technical staff alike

Minimum 2 years of previous software development
- 2 years of Microsoft SQL Server development experience.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong analytical and diagnostic abilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience using Visual Studio 2008/2010 and TFS Source Control.
- Experience with Webservices or Web APIs.
- Exhibits passion for staying current on technologies and best practices as related to software development.
- Must also be willing to express new and innovative ideas.

The ONESOURCE Software Engineer is responsible for the design, unit testing, coding and integration of assigned projects for various ONESOURCE Income tax products.
- Develop software solutions to correct product defects
- Develop software solutions to enhance the Income Tax product suite
- Use Test Driven Development where possible creating unit tests that become part of the software delivery
- Work with Business Analysts in order to clarify requirements
- Understand and exhibit agile development techniques
- Independently, the candidate must be able to analyze and resolve complex software problems
- Follow UI standards established by UX committee

The project summary - Software Development for ONESOURCE Income Tax and GoSystem products. This project will include the design, unit testing, development and integration of maintenance and enhancement items to the ONESOURCE Income Tax web-based product. All code will be checked into TFS Source Control and subject to design and code review. Development is completed in short iterations with deliverables tracked in TFS work tickets and deployed to testing environments for verification.

Overview:
As member of the DataScope Select development team, design and implement server-side solutions for the DataScope Select application. This position will particpate in creating a next generation API for the DataScope Select platform. Individual must have passion for usable and functional API design. Applicant will be joining a senior level team to collaborate on design and implementation. Position will require a familiarity with the open source ecosystem around Microsoft technologies. Familiarity with agile patterns a plus.

Responsibilities:
Architecture, design, and development of REST-ful web service interfaces and middle tier components and infrastructure running on the Microsoft platform (Windows Server 2008 R2, .NET 4.0, WCF, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Web Services). Will also be developing data access layers for these components that communicate with a variety of data sources including SQL Server, Sybase, NoSQL, and other web services. Will be working with a variety of frameworks, patterns, and engineering practices including LINQ, Inversion of Control, Unit Testing, Mocking, and many OO patterns. There will also be opportunities for pragmatic CQRS, Event Sourcing, and message queueing. Must have good communication skills, a passion for the technology, and willingness to mentor others.
