The Governance, Risk & Compliance unit works with teams across Thomson Reuters to leverage the full capabilities of the business.

The principle objective of this role is to validate and implement the Thomson Reuters Enterprise Risk Management regulatory themes taxonomy, a metadata framework applicable to all financial services regulatory intelligence and news and analysis content in the ERM product suite. The successful candidate will be expected to validate a proprietary taxonomy against a defined set of US and UK regulatory publications, making edits/adjustments to the defined categories, as appropriate, to further develop the taxonomy and prepare it for publication. Once validated, the taxonomy editor will help to oversee the proper application of the taxonomy against all regulatory content in the product suite. Additional objectives include developing related taxonomies and ensuring consistency across taxonomical structures as well as accuracy and consistency in their application to content.

Responsibilities
- Develop fluency in the regulatory themes taxonomy, its application to legal and regulatory content, and its commercial application
- Build a solid understanding of relevant content operations production processes and requirements
- Validate and develop the taxonomy to prepare it for initial launch/publication
- Ensure the accurate and consistent application of the taxonomy across all regulatory content/publications – review/audit data and resolve issues
- Ensure consistency of regulatory themes taxonomy with related taxonomies
- Monitor financial services regulatory trends and developments
- Attend and participate in team meetings, prioritize own work, participate in the employee evaluation process, and attend training sessions/classes as required

The Technical Writer / Documentation Developer must have a combination of technical writing and technology expertise. The ideal candidate must be able to deliver on-time updates of user documentation as applications are enhanced, managing their deliverables to project plan. The Documentation Developer is also responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing initiatives related to single-source structured authoring of Web Help, User Guides and Training Guides, using an existing metadata database of topics created using DITA specifications. The Technical Writer / Documentation Developer must be able to create and maintain their own work schedule, use and maintain the existing documentation technology and enhance the documentation technology as needed.

Responsiblities
- Self-manage their own schedule of work, owning the user documentation roadmap and providing updates in alignment with enhancement of Disclosure Solutions applications. Maintain an established archive of existing documentation, creating updates coordinated with application release schedules.
- Perform all technical writing needed to update existing user documentation and create new user documentation. Where necessary, maintain legacy user documentation in its original non-DITA format. Create user documentation for new products using DITA specification and technologies already in place for the Disclosure Solutions PROFILE application.
- Own and manage the content management and build process and technology for the production of Web Help, User Guides and Training Guides. Maintain all XSLT style sheets to Product Management and Training Department specifications. Own and maintain an existing metadata database. Maintain and enhance the existing Structural Style Guide for Disclosure Solutions PROFILE user documentation as needed.
- Interact cross-functionally with product managers, trainers, developers, testers and subject matter experts for the purpose of maintaining excellent and timely quality standards for Web Help, User Guides and Training Guides. Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of application enhancements by initiating discovery sessions as needed with developers and testers.
- Create and maintain project plans for user documentation enhancements, coordinated with master DEV and QA software release project plans. Perform strategic planning for effective utilization of available technology. Recommend improvements to technology as needed. Report on project status and DITA technology performance as needed.

- Demonstrated ability to publish excellent software user documentation in HTML Web Help and PDF format using a single-source, structured authoring DITA-compliant system.

The User Interface Software Developer is responsible for developing high quality, large cross-browser, single page web applications using JavaScript. You will be using an in-house application framework based on the DOJO toolkit and latest web technologies, development best practices, and within a large interdisciplinary team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work as part of an Agile Scrum team on multiple challenging development problems. As a member of a Scrum team, developers will be expected to participate in development planning exercises, pair programming and manage their own task load.
- Assist in the generation of estimates for project proposals and programming tasks.
- Assist with gathering of specifications as needed.
- Develop high quality code from current designs following appropriate coding standards.
- Use BDD and TDD practises to write well tested code. This may include the code of other team members.
- Participate in Design Inspections and Code Walk-through Reviews as appropriate.
- Assist in providing development documentation, as well as testing suggestions for the quality analysts.
- Keep management informed of task progress, issues, etc. throughout the development process.
- Perform maintenance and support activities as necessary.
- Able to work hours outside the normal business hours on occasion.

Day to day you will be building Javascript and LESS CSS widgets with Unit Tests and Behavioural Driven Development tests to meet business requirements for the application. Typical widgets we have built recently include:
- Tying a lazy-loading grid to filters which are dynamically created based on the columns and the content in the grid,
- Updating a “case” real time via NodeJS web sockets so that when users are editing or changing the case other users are both notified of the changes and see them replicated in their view,
- Creating a dynamic form builder for editing a case based on a model
We are developing a shared framework which will be used by more business units throughout Thomson Reuters:
- Login process with pluggable authentication providers,
- Shared LESS files which have a theme switcher,

- A filters widget for dynamically generated filters.
As a UI team we are also developing our Continuous Integration and tools:
- Mocking and schema layer for sharing REST end points between NodeJS and the UI,

Tax Manager - Technical Editor

Technical editors are experienced CPAs, who have at least five years of tax practice experience or comparable experience and expertise from private industry or a similar profession, knowledge of the subject matter of PPC and Quickfinder tax products, the ability to execute assignments in a timely, competent manner, and can identify update features, practical insights, and other improvements to our products. Based on this extensive practice experience, technical editors design and develop products that help our customers (tax practitioners) practice more effectively and profitably.

Candidate will use extensive tax practice experience to design and develop unique tax guidance and electronic tools that provide practical, step-by-step guidance for our customers and that optimize customer retention rates. This includes applying technical expertise and exercising professional judgment in identifying relevant topics to address, planning tips, compliance tips and possible traps for the unwary. It also includes designing useful practice aids and other tools. Projects must be completed in a timely manner and within budget.

Coordinates the efforts of other project team members, including other technical editors, outside authors and in-house content management and software development personnel to ensure that deadlines are met and that guidance is practical and accurate. Qualifications

Requirements:
- Manager or Senior Manager with 5+ years' relevant CPA tax practice experience in public accounting.
- Strong broad-based technical tax knowledge a must.
- Robust technical research skills required.
- Must be tech savvy in performing electronic tax research, and proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Ideal candidate is a Manager or Senior Manager with a Big 4, large or mid-sized accounting firm who is seeking a professional environment without the travel and busy season hassle.

Project Summary and Position Overview:

Thomson Reuters seeks a financial markets participant or journalist with deep experience of the Russia & CIS markets to lead a project that will combine analytical insight with Reuters News on a platform that will form the premier, real-time investment community for the region. The successful candidate will need proven writing skills to comment and interpret market events, sound news judgment to select top stories from Reuters Russia & CIS correspondents, and the ability to lead an online debate among participating investors. The candidate will need to demonstrate critical thinking in keeping with Reuters editorial standards and provide thought leadership on events as diverse as elections, bond issues or interest rate moves. The candidate will need to show the ability to work under pressure with a diverse team, to forge relationships with news sources and clients, and to dedicate him or herself to the success of the project. S/he will be a confident communicator, as comfortable moderating debates in person as online.

Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
-Moderate the Russia & CIS Fixed Income Chatroom on a daily basis
-Work in close collaboration with the Russia & CIS Capital Markets Reporters to post stories in the chatroom
-Moderate one-off Focus Events on the Chatroom
-Help build relevant Portal for FI professionals
-Add stories on the Fixed Income Portal
-Work in collaboration with the Newsletter team and the Russia & CIS Capital Markets Reporter to pick the relevant top stories on a monthly basis
-Report any breaking news coming from the chatroom and follow up with the relevant Editorial and Business (Content) parties

Qualifications


Education:

Qualified Journalist

Required Skills:
-Experience in the financial or investment industries
-Formal training in investment strategy or financial analysis
-Good writing skills, journalism experience a plus
-Experience with Web 2.0 tools, blogging or social media a plus
-Record of building contacts with financial professionals, including senior contacts
-Experience in the Russia & CIS region is preferred
-Strong written Russian and English skills are essential
-Analytical skills, ability to interpret news and events, familiarity with global and regional trends in the Fixed Income sector
-Willingness to work long hours on a demanding assignment; team skills paramount
