These include, most recently, Aswat Masriya, an independent news website launched in Egypt in 2012 which has become “the” source of reference on the political process in Egypt.

The Foundation is now launching a new corporate training programme and is seeking a highly motivated Corporate Training Manager to lead it.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of TrustMedia and building upon TrustMedia’s success as a global leader in innovative media and communications training, the Corporate Training Manager will:
- Develop and implement a strategy to establish and grow the Foundation’s corporate training programme. This role is rigorously target driven with the expectation of generating business and significantly increasing revenue within a year
- Identify and map our potential client base, developing and constantly growing our pool of potential clients among global corporations, including the banking and legal sectors. Relationship building will be a critical part of this role
- Working with training consultants, develop the curriculum for the training courses and adapt them to the different needs of our clients
- Coordinate the delivery of all corporate training courses and all administration associated, including invoicing clients, credit control and processing of training consultants' fees.
- Identify and hire new trainers with relevant expertise to run customised courses
- Marketing and promotion of our corporate training programme, including through social media

Also:
- Report on sales results on a weekly basis, implementing forecasting metrics and identifying the most successful and profitable client bases
- Participate in the budget planning process
- Ensuring that all training is delivered to the highest standards

Qualifications

The ideal candidate
- We are looking for a self-starter, someone with a high level of independence and initiative, self-motivated, with the ability to design their own agenda and take responsibility to advance and complete projects
- Someone with strong sales and marketing experience, ideally in similar positions either in the media development sector or delivering other types of training. A proven and consistent track record of above target revenue growth would be ideal
- You will have extensive working experience, are educated to degree level, preferably with a Masters qualification (perhaps an MBA)
- You know and understand well the media and corporate communications field as well as state-of-the-art training trends
- You are interested in the world of international development in which the Foundation operates and may have had experience working or travelling abroad
- You can work quickly under pressure, juggle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadline requirements and drive projects to completion
- Your have excellent negotiating skills and are comfortable dealing with a wide range of customers, from different levels of seniority, across different sectors and cultures.
- Excellent written, presentation and communication skills in English. Other languages would be a plus.

This position would be based in London with a one year contract for a start. The salary is negotiable according to qualifications.

Reuters is looking for an energetic and first-rate correspondent with a proven track record to lead coverage in Central Asia. This is an exciting opportunity for a journalist seeking the chance to cover a full range of stories from oil to human rights abuses, and gain experience of leading a talented multi-media team. Based in Almaty, the Chief Correspondent will oversee our file form the five ‘Stans’ of the former Soviet Union - Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan - in coordination with the regional Bureau Chief in Moscow and the news editors in London. This is a huge and diverse area with a population of about 65 million people spanning more than 4 million square km. The five countries are at different stages of economic and political development, two decades after they become independent from the Soviet Union, and each offers its own challenges and fascinations.

The successful candidate will be a top-notch writer and motivated self-starter who is equally at home writing an oil snap as a breaking story about miners rioting in a remote town. He or she will drive a file in which the region’s energy resources play a dominant role and help provide strong coverage of the big companies in the region that are sitting on oil and gas resources, some of them quoted on foreign stock exchanges. Banking is also developing in the region. There is a potential for political upheaval in many parts of the region and Kazakhstan is a launchpad for international space missions. The Chief Correspondent will lead from the front by coming up with imaginative ideas for longer-form enterprise stories and spot news. He or she will write stories with flair, providing the regional and national big picture, spotting themes before our rivals and developing them through sources and staff on the ground. He or she will also help less senior staff pull together well-written stories that show their in-depth knowledge of the region and out us ahead of our rivals in terms of quality, accuracy and speed. He or she will also bring on local staff to develop their potential and help us retain the best.

The job involves managing a multi-media team of 12 across the region and ensuring their safety in sometimes hostile environments and difficult conditions. He or she will have a proven ability to lead a team and will be able to look after the interests of the staff and the company in an area with governments are in some cases autocratic and unpredictable. He or she will ensure procedures are in place for all eventualities ranging from earthquakes to revolutions.
