The role will require the successful candidate to work effectively with a wide range of internal groups and external suppliers located around the world.<br/><br/>The Capability Manager will justify, define, scope, specify and manage the Collections and Distribution capabilities - aligning development with business requirements and technology strategy. They will be responsible for defining and building the new strategic platform that will underpin Collections and Distribution for all business units of Thomson Reuters. <br/><br/>The candidate will be the ultimate owner of the requirements specification for a strategic platform. It will require a sound understanding of technology and project delivery grounded in the objective of delivering value to the business<br/><br/>Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:<br/>- Create and grow relationships with key stakeholders, so as to fully understand their objectives and strategy in order to ensure the capabilities delivered enable them to achieve their goals - both tactical and strategic<br/>- Elicit requirements and specifications from the a broad range of groups - architecture, development, technical operations, business units and other capability teams. Consolidate and distil these requirements into requirement documents, specifications and/or user stories.<br/>- Adopt the role of Product Owner when delivering products using agile methods<br/>- Support development, QA and project groups to ensure project delivery remains on track - effectively communicating the vision and immediate requirements to these groups so they can execute as flawlessly as possible<br/>- Promote the platform capabilities to ensure optimal re-use/adoption across the Thomson Reuters business divisions<br/>- Ultimately own the lifecycle of the capabilities being delivered - from definition through to 'business as usual' operations<br/>- Ensure each investment in the platform is backed with a solid business case, underwritten by stakeholders.<br/>- Continuously look to enhance and mature the capabilities, looking for new business opportunities that the platform can enable<br/>- Develop a culture of continuous improvement in the technology delivery teams and drive efficiencies<br/>- Develop and constantly improve process that support business agility<br/>- Develop and maintain broad knowledge of related functional areas across the business.We are the leading source of intelligent information for the world's businesses and professionals, providing customers with competitive advantage. Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate customer focus, technical and troubleshooting skills, experience working in a global support organisation, and excellent written / spoken communication skills.<br/><br/><b>Responsibilities</b><br/>- Incident managment, focusing on our customers, ensuring issues are managed and resolved in a timely and consistent manner<br/>- Provide support for storage and backup capabilities including ticket management for incidents and support requests<br/>- Provision storage and backup capabilities in line with project and work request requirements<br/>- Report on and manage storage and backup capacity<br/>- Amend and create new documentation inline with existing standards <br/>- Implement and manage new storage hardware deployments<br/>- Manage the decommissioning of legacy hardware<br/>- Manage and troubleshoot storage issues which include following escalation paths, both internally and externally and liaison with storage vendors<br/>- Working with the storage design engineers to bring new capabilities into the support team<br/>- Proactively maintain and manage the storage environment<br/>- Adhere to agreed standards, policies, procedures and best practices to deliver consistency and standardisation<br/>- Help to identify and drive efficiencies, process / procedural enhancements, and automation as part of continuous service improvement<br/><br/><b>Qualifications</b><br/><br/><b>Required skills and experience</b><br/>- Proven overall IT experience, with a good understanding / prior experience working with and supporting large scale (Enterprise) Storage and Backup environments.<br/>- Experience in a NAS (NetApp), SAN (Hitachi & EMC), Avamar, NetBackup and TSM backup environment, although this is flexible where appropriate.<br/>- Good working Knowledge of NetApp, EMC- VMAX,VNX,Clarrion Hitachi -USPV,VSP storage infrastructure and tools.<br/>- Good working Knowledge of NetApp vfilers virtualization and SAN virtualization.<br/>- Good working Knowledge of TSM,Veritas Netbackup and Avamar backup infrastructure and backup tools.<br/>- Experience of managing fiber channel SAN switches like Mcdata, Brocade and Cisco storage switches.<br/>- Proficiency in at least one of the following operating systems: Solaris, Windows or Linux.<br/>- Experience with tiered storage and the ability to quantify the storage requirements for a particular project or application.<br/>- An appreciation for business continuity and storage based replication technologies.<br/>- Flexible and willing to learn new technologies and applications.<br/>- Basic UNIX command, Shell and Perl scripting required.<br/>- Knowledge with Oracle database will be a plus.<br/>- Able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.<br/>- Good written and verbal communication.<br/>- Effective team player willing to assist others when needed.<br/>- ITIL based incident, change, problem management processes.<br/><br/><b>Preferred skills and experience</b><br/><br/>Familiarity / Experience in support roles encorporating other technologies such as Networks, Platforms (Wintel / Unix) etc. <br/><br/>At Thomson Reuters, we believe what we do matters. This role contributes significantly to the delivery of business objectives by actively managing the consistent and effective presentation and messaging for our two flagship capabilities. This is a new role designed to support establishing and developing the language, creative treatment and manifestation of how we create the overall marketing message for Eikon and Elektron and ensure this layers effectively within our overall F&R proposition. The output from this role will have a high profile, as it includes supporting the governance of all advertising, collateral, product literature, PR, direct to customer communications, internal comms and sales and marketing materials for Eikon and Elektron across all customer segments. This is also a highly collaborative role involving close work with the product groups, business segments, brand, sales and central marketing and regional marketing teams; the Eikon and Elektron messaging will span all geographies and multiple business segments and markets and these will add nuances and colour to the language that needs to be considered. <br/><br/><b>Responsibilities</b><br/><br/>Responsible for managing the product release communications and setting up the right rythym and content for those releases. Contributes to creation of consistent tone of voice, messaging and positioning for the overall Eikon and Elektron capabilities and how this is used through all sales and marketing channels. In partnership with the manager, works closely with the segment, product, brand and marketing teams to ensure consistent and effective cascade of this approach to messaging for Eikon and Elektron across all customer segments and channels. Joint accountability for the way in which we present Eikon and Elektron across all channels and specifically for the cross segment propositions and product release communcations. Helps analyse customer, market and competitor information and ensures market positioning and end user messaging is compelling, differentiated and supported by evidence and that this is scaled throughout all internal and external marketing activities. Contributes to the monitoring of all aspects of key competitors, analyzing their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Supports development of strategies to meet competitive threats and/or achieve competitive advantage. Must exhibit deep marketing expertise with a particular skill in developing customer centric messaging for complex financial services propositions and how to scale this through all marketing channels. Preferable if the candidade can exhibit Global Marketing perspective and a deep understanding of how marketing can benefit the business in order to set industry and business precedents and stay ahead of the competition. Must have experience of delivering strong, influential, customer facing materials and ability to deliver complex analysis on behalf of the organization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational / project management skills working with multiple groups across geographies and cultures.
