The Project Manager is a delivery focused member of the team. In most instances delivering to a pre-agreed Project Specification that will deliver business benefits to Thomson Reuters. On occasions it may be necessary for the PM to work with the Proposition Owners and Programme Managers, as well as Regional Heads and internal stakeholders in developing the Project Specification prior to delivery. End to end management of projects conforming to Network Comms standards and methodologies, this approach will be supportive and align with the RPD or Platinum business processes as approprioate or required.
Production and maintenance of project documentation as applicable and agreed with the PMO, with particular emphasis on:
§ A Project Scoping Documentation that describes the project deliverables.
§ Project Plan (time and costs/revenue)
§ Communication and Quality Plans
§ Risks and Issues Logs
§ Lessons Learned and Post Implementation Reviews
Facilitation of communication and reporting as appropriate with all internal and external stakeholders.
Provision of exception reports when necessary to highlight significant risks and issues to senior management.
Undertake limited UK / US and international travel as required
Act as subject matter expert in the area of project management tools and techniques, possibly providing mentoring to other team members.

The Platforms Organization is seeking a Sr. Director, Program Management to oversee the program portfolio for Content Production Platforms, Content Marketplace, and Core Entity Masters. This position strategically aligns our Content programs to ensure more effective and efficient integrations with the strategic business units. Content Production Platforms develop modern editorial system components for use by multiple SBU’s, including content prep, transformation, workflow management, hierarchy management, relationship management, and product builder. Core Entities develop systems and processes to support the collection and distribution of Core Entities data – Organizations and People – for all Thomson Reuters products. Content Marketplace develops systems, processes and data that are specifically related to extending and enhancing the ability to access and share content across Thomson Reuters.

The Sr. Director is responsible leading a PMO team who define, plan and successfully deliver global projects aligned with the roadmaps for the Content program portfolio. They will also work with senior management and senior stakeholders to ensure business objectives are achieved.

Position Overview

Thomson Reuters GRC is seeking a high-energy, motivated individual who combines strong program management skills with business acumen and proactive leadership for the position of Senior Technology Project Manager. This individual will support the Governance, Transaction and Legal Risk segment of the business by providing portfolio and project management for key, revenue-oriented software development projects. This position serves a key role responsible for planning and implementing technology projects for business growth initiatives. These projects are large, high visibility, and cross-functional in nature.

Primary Responsibilities:


- Provide technology program/project management for Product and Content Technology initiatives. This includes:

o Providing project leadership, work direction and feedback to the project leads, project managers and teams.

o Overseeing and monitoring progress on complex and/or multiple projects relative to scope, schedules, budgets and quality.

o Serving as the project issue escalation point and primary contact across organizations.

o Facilitating solutions to complex problems and managing difficult process improvements.

o Negotiating and resolving conflicting change requests and changing priorities across customers/projects.

o Communicating and reporting status to executives, customers, and all other relevant individuals and groups.

o Conducting project assessments at a program level.

o Developing or assisting in developing business cases.

o Coaching and training others on project management skills and methodologies.

- Participate as a member of the management team in:

o Serving as a resource manager to project managers. Developing and achieving departmental goals

o Establishing best practices (including standards and process)

o Managing/mentoring project managers

o Executing broader departmental initiatives and programs

- Active partnership in the portfolio management process, providing high-level scoping, estimating and projections of initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:


- Four-year undergraduate degree in computer science, or related field

- Extensive related experience, including strong project/program management experience with implementation of large scale, cross-functional projects in a technology environment

- Demonstrated achievements in planning, directing and implementing complex projects on time, within budget and with desired functionality

- Ability to be broadly focused and manage multiple efforts concurrently

- Ability to allow sufficient independence while maintaining alignment and overall direction

- Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization; including staff, business stakeholders, and all levels of management

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including with Executive audiences

- Strong conflict resolution, negotiating and influencing skills

- Ability to work in fast-paced, changing, and ambiguous environments

Preferred or Desired Qualifications:

- Masters or advanced degree in computer science, business, or related field

- Broad knowledge of agile methodologies, Westlaw and WestlawNext systems, Content systems, Thomson Reuters content

- TFS and Version One Experience

- PMO certification
