Position Title:

IT Support Specialist

Role Summary:

To provide a high standard of customer support to Thomson Reuters UK tax and accounting customers in an effective and timely manner focusing particularly on IT issues such as installation queries.


Digita provides a full integrated suite of best of breed software for accountants and tax practitioners and is used by over 5,000 accountants.  Built around a central database of client and contact information, the Digita Professional Suite doesn't just link accounts and tax software; it provides an intuitive environment for client maintenance, tax and accounts compliance, contact management, letter writing, marketing and forms production.  (

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Respond to enquiries from customers in relation to the installation, functionality and performance of supported products.
  • Identify causes of and solve problems for customers within acceptable time standards.
  • Ensure, where appropriate, information gained from handling supports queries is promoted to our knowledge base and communicated to interested parties.
  • Update knowledge base with known issues, tips and workarounds as required.
  • Maintain up to date product and general IT knowledge.  Acquire knowledge of relevant supported products to facilitate the continued provision of quality guidance to customers.
  • Manage elements of our internal infrastructure to support software deployments including being part of the out of hours support rota.
  • A good team player with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Maintenance of the Digita Virtual Office environment
  • Involvement in the IT On Call rota

Technical /Professional Skills & Competencies:

Essential Skills:

  • IT professional with excellent knowledge of Microsoft technologies
  • Worked in a customer facing environment, preferably in a software support role
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.

Desired Skills:

  • Microsoft qualifications (e.g., MCP)

Education/ Certifications:

  • Degree level education would be advantageous.
