Job Description

TR’s Tax & Accounting, ANZ are looking for a Managing Director to drive the entire group’s strategy and deliver on the business plan and growth initiatives. This is a senior executive role with broad responsibility across all global and local solutions from corporate, knowledge solutions, professional and government business lines.


Reporting to the Managing Director for ANZ and Knowledge Solutions (US HQ),  the role will manage a team of 4 Directors with teams consisting of well experienced professionals. Crucial to the success of the role will be a continued customer focus with respect to the ever-changing needs of a dynamic, competitive and growing market. This role may be based in Melbourne or Sydney.

Essential responsibilities

  • Deliver the business’ financial plan (revenue, EBITDA, Cash OI, etc) 
  • Deliver the Sales targets and direction for local marketing activities
  • Lead the local business and product strategy and go-to-market design
  • Accountability for local commercial management, product management and portfolio management
  • Lead software customer implementations and related activities
  • Motivate, coach and develop teams. Lead staff engagement and personal development initiatives
  • Involvement in customer satisfaction activities (including regular personal customer interaction)
  • Lead and participate in PR and marketing activities

Required skills and experience

  • Formal Qualifications/Certification (Tertiary, CPA/CA, MBA, etc).
  • Preferably experience in Tax & Accounting market space and or experience in recurring revenue software, content and services business model
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Experience in customer engagement and interactions
  • Ability to talk tax & accounting, regulatory issues, industry issues, global trends
  • Strong leader and people management skills and capability to drive high engagement
  • Result oriented individual who can also motivate and lead a team towards business goals
  • Ability to lead and drive change
  • Strong communication skills including written, oral, presentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a complex, matrixed large organization
