Position Title: Sub Editor, EMEA Companies (two positions available)

Reuters is looking for two experienced journalists for its news desk in London to edit company news stories from Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The successful candidates will be cheerleaders for high-quality business journalism and will work collaboratively with reporters across the region to ensure the delivery of fast and sharp company stories about companies on our financial desktop, Thomson Reuters Eikon, and for our broader media and consumer audience. These are roles for outward-looking and curious editors who will also be called on to help edit the broader news file, including politics, economics and sport. The roles will include shifts and some weekend working.
Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
The roles require a cool head and good communication skills. The successful candidates will be able to handle real-time breaking news under intense competitive pressure, and to edit some of the biggest business stories of the day to the highest standard. Experience editing or writing stories about major companies is essential. An understanding of commodities news, economics or financial markets would be a distinct advantage.
