Job Description

Are you passionate about software testing and quality in an agile project environment?  Do you have experience with test automation and a desire to lead?  If so, then we want to talk to you about joining the FindLaw technology organization as a Lead Software Test Engineer!

Core Responsibilities

This Lead Software Test Engineer will provide quality leadership on an agile project team by coordinating manual test activities across multiple applications and overseeing the creation of automated regression tests.  They will provide technical leadership to other engineers for test automation, and general quality best practices.  As part of the larger Quality Assurance community, they will partner to streamline quality processes, tools, technologies, and automation to maintain superior product quality and team efficiency.  They will work directly with technology and business partners to collaborate on delivering high quality products that meet current and future customer needs.

  • Guide the creation of complete and actionable acceptance criteria in agile stories.
  • Lead junior test engineers to manually validate application changes and automate tests for regression as part of the agile cadence.
  • Develop robust test automation solutions that meet FindLaw application needs and scale for future growth across a variety of technologies.
  • Share test execution metrics that establish baselines and track quality and efficiency improvements over time.
  • Coach and provide technical leadership to others on the QA team.
  • Advance the software testing strategy and automation best practices through innovation using new and emerging technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S./B.A. in Computer Science or related field.
  • 7+ years of software testing and/or software development experience working with various technologies such as: Selenium, Java, HTML, javascript, relational databases, XML, web services.
  • 2+ years of experience creating, maintaining, executing, and analyzing automated tests.
  • Working knowledge of test automation frameworks.
  • Experience creating and documenting project test plans, and test cases for stories.
  • Experience on an agile software team.
  • Experience working across multiple geographic locations and cultures.
