Job Overview:

The Sales Specialist is accountable for delivering gross sales by proactively developing and deploying sales strategies. Working in collaboration with account management and other front line teams, the Sales Specialist uses financial market specialist knowledge to open up new business and grow market share in Vietnam focusing on Thomson Reuters products and solutions.


  • Develop and deploy sales strategies to deliver gross sales.
  • Identify opportunities and generate sales to existing and new customers including pursuing and converting leads provided by Direct, Account Managers and Sales Specialists into sales.
  • Open up new business, both within existing accounts and new customers focusing on growth based on a value sale. 
  • Assist in retaining key customers, bringing in relevant domain expertise.
  • Advocate customer needs and provide insights on market trends and competitor activities to Thomson Reuters to drive and grow our business. 


  • Strong skills and experience (over 5 years) in sales covering all aspects of consultative selling from identifying, developing and articulating proposition to closing sales.
  • In-depth understanding of financial and relevant, customer’s business model workflow as well as trading floor technology and data applications.
  • An understanding of the asset classes e.g. equities, fixed income, bonds
  • An understanding of local banking and financial markets and their workings gained through experience working in the banking, broking.
  • Existing client relationships within financial market e.g. banks, brokers, traders would be highly desirable.      
  • Possessing hunter instinct capable of pursuing and converting leads into gross sales with a proven track record in a quota bearing sales environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent skills in both verbal and written presentation
  • Very good Vietnamese and English communication skills
