Reuters is looking for an energetic and experienced journalist with a passion for covering all types of news in Vietnam.
Vietnam is at the centre of stories of global and regional importance from the fate of trade relations between the United States and Asia to tension in the South China Sea to China’s One Belt, One Road Initiative. As one of Southeast Asia’s fastest growing economies and with over 90 million people, Vietnam is an ever more important investment destination. That opens plenty of opportunities for breaking news and providing unique insight about dynamic companies and an ongoing privatization drive. Vietnam is a vital commodities producer as the world’s top grower of robusta coffee and one of its biggest rice suppliers. Coverage of other agricultural commodities and energy is also essential. Meanwhile, there is a wealth of stories that are best told through images as well as words to reveal Vietnam’s dramatic change.
We are looking for a video journalist who will be ready to turn to any of these subjects. The successful candidate will have a track record of breaking news and coming up with agenda-setting initiative stories. A critical part of the correspondent’s role will also be to guide and mentor the members of the team in Vietnam.
