Job Description

Role Purpose

This role will build a project management function within Reuters by introducing and building this capability through work with management and staff.  In addition to driving theory and process, this will be a hands-on role, demonstrating the impact of effective project and change management.  The role will report into the Executive Editor, Editorial Strategy, and be accountable for the governance of projects and initiatives across the Editorial organization

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and build a project management team.
  • Build project management capability throughout the organization by:
    • proposing approaches and working alongside colleagues to demonstrate how they work in practice.
    • collaborating with HR/Learning colleagues to develop the capability through learning and experiences .
  • Create and deploy a toolkit of project management resources.
  • Provide project management support to a portfolio of initiatives.
  • Develop project reporting to improve transparency and drive delivery.

Skills/Experience

  • Proven project management professional with significant experience in delivering global, complex projects
  • Demonstrable success in coaching and leading teams
  • Strong capabilities in utilizing data and analytics to drive decisions
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Quick thinker that grasps information easily and can “connect the dots”
  • Empathy for the challenges of a news environment
  • Resilience and determination to make progress despite pushback
