Business Unit:  Reuters GCO / Content Solutions Global Business Operations

Position Title:  Content Solutions Contract Specialist  

Location:  London

Role Summary:

The Global Customer Operation (GCO) and Global Business Operations teams are based in London and are responsible for the lifecycle management of News Agency and Content Solutions contracts worldwide. Both teams have specialist knowledge of products and contracts and are key in ensuring media Commercial Policy and Compliance protocols are applied.  

Working with Content Solutions Account Managers around the world, this role manages the life cycle of such contracts. The role requires a thorough knowledge of financial regulatory and compliance protocols, commercial policy and sound understanding of contract issues and rights.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

Responsibilities include contract drafting to suit individual deals, working in collaboration with Legal and Tax.  This role is also to take the lead in establishing and maintaining a compliance-led workflow in order to satisfy audits and revenue recognition. 

The role also requires accurate maintenance of contract data from which reports will be generated to inform business strategy decisions.

Working with a global team, the post requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, capable of self-motivated task management, working to deadlines, good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team as well as taking initiative in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Technical /Professional Skills & Competencies:

Essential Skills:

  • Thorough contract management experience and familiarity with legal language
  • Experience and knowledge of financial regulatory protocols
  • Experience of compliance and other standard business protocols
  • Experience of analytics and strategic thinking
  • Strong communication skills to suit a global business
  • Experience of operational technologies and databases
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Suite (e.g. Word, PPT, Excel)
  • Attention to detail
  • Good written English language skills (for drafting legal documents)
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritise work in a high paced environment
  • Ability to self-motivate and meet targets
  • Collaborative team player

Desired Skills:

  • Experience of the news and media industry
