Sourcing / Procurement Internship - Summer 2018

Job Description

Are you interested in learning how to strategically negotiate contracts? Are you passionate about working with people to make an impact on the bottom line? In this role, you will learn firsthand how our Sourcing team operates in a global organization, building your skills and experience in supply chain management. You’ll gain insight into how the organization strategically approaches a buy/deal, what requirements are important to our internal business partners and executives, how to best negotiate favorable terms for our business, and how we touch and impact the entire enterprise.


  • Participate in the supplier relationship management process to enable process improvements, improved decision-making and improved information reporting to key partners
  • Apply supply chain skills and knowledge to assigned projects, working with a cross-functional, global team
  • Work on projects requiring pricing analysis, RFP assistance, meeting internal and external stakeholder requirements, crafting reports and databases
  • Work with standard systems of support such as Cognos reporting and office tools
  • Use data queries to provide accurate and timely answers to sourcing-related questions
  • Provide professional analysis, technical and management support to the Global Sourcing team
  • Develop expertise in procurement fundamentals and categories
  • Gain exposure to category contracts and supplier management
  • Keep all information and records confidential

  • Critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize requests and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills including excellent listening, written and verbal skills
  • Accomplished Microsoft Office user required, SAP a plus


  • Junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or related field; meeting program academic requirements
  • Interested in pursuing a career in International Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Operations
  • Previous internship experience preferred
