Senior Associate Editor, Bankruptcy

Job Description

The Bankruptcy Team at Practical Law is looking for a bright and driven individual to join our Bankruptcy editorial team. The ideal candidate has experience as a Bankruptcy Associate in a top law firm. A strong desire to work in the legal publishing industry and solid writing experience are strongly preferred.

This person will be responsible for drafting plans of reorganization summaries and analyzing trends for our What's Market Bankruptcy database. Primary responsibilities include:

• Drafting summaries of plans of reorganization and disclosure statements, first day motions, plan objections, DIP objections, and other pleadings.

• Drafting What’s Market practice notes and other resources highlighting current market trends.

• Providing additional support to the Bankruptcy team as required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• J.D. from an accredited institution.

• One or more years' experience in a law firm.

• Familiarity with Pacer.

• Excellent writing and drafting skills.

• Very close attention to detail.

• Excellent command of grammar, punctuation, and plain English.

• Ability to write about complex legal issues clearly and succinctly.

• Analytical and research skills and ability to identify key information from sources.

• Ability to work efficiently and within tight deadlines.
