Copy Editor

Purpose:

The Copy Editor for the Creative Services Team is responsible for proofreading and editing copy (as required) to ensure the accuracy, quality, readability, and alignment to brand standards of all marketing creative.

This position is responsible for:

  • proofreading to identify and correct grammar, punctuation and spelling errors;
  • editing and/or rewriting as required to ensure all work conforms to brand and tone of voice guidelines
  • collaborating with Graphic Designers on copy considerations for print and digital layouts, and editing/rewriting copy as required; and
  • participating in cross-functional team meetings to determine project scope, timing, and all details relevant to the successful execution of campaign goals.

You will be a strong team player and will possess:

  • a post-secondary degree;
  • a minimum of 1-year experience editing and proofreading (preferably in a marketing or agency environment);
  • strong attention to detail;
  • solid understanding of brand, and experience working with brand guidelines;
  • effective communication skills;
  • strong collaboration skills, including the ability to give and receive timely feedback in a courteous and respectful manner;
  • strong time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines;
  • a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • a positive attitude and proactive approach to problem-solving; and
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
