Job Description

Thomson Reuters U.S. Income Tax Compliance software is relied upon by the largest multi-national corporations and global accounting firms for theirs and their clients’ income tax filings. Our vision is to create the next generation of tax and accounting software that is unbounded by traditional constraints on storage and compute resources.

We seek to add a talented, result oriented and innovative software engineer to our team who help us modernize our applications and migrate them to the public cloud. This position is responsible for the design, unit testing, coding and integration of assigned projects for ONESOURCE DataFlow and other data collection products.

Position Requirements

  • Design and develop solutions for the collection of data.
  • Determine and recommend solutions to correct product defects.
  • Participate in technology determination and architecture discussions for product development.
  • Use test driven development methodologies to enhance and support full delivery of software.
  • Design and build scalable, maintainable, systems to meet the changing needs of our clients and customers.
  • Develop and maintain Microsoft Excel based solutions integrating with multiple product suites.
  • Understand and exhibit agile development techniques.
  • Independently, the candidate must be able to analyze and resolve complex software problems

Project Summary

Software Development for ONESOURCE DataFlow product and other data collection products.

The ONESOURCE suite includes multiple data collection products and projects. These products incorporate client side browser based interfaces, Microsoft Excel systems as well as web-services/apis and server side processing of data. The successful candidate will have full stack development experience including and not limited to:

  • Microsoft Excel Add-ins using VBA and C# in VSTO with knowledge of the Microsoft Excel object model and office automation.
  • AngularJS
  • TypeScript
  • AWS and other cloud based systems.
  • C# including .NET Core
  • Java is desirable
  • A variety of data storage mechanisms including SQL Server, Couch, and other cloud based systems.
  • N-Unit

Primary Tool sets include:

  • Visual Studio 2017
  • Team Foundation Server
  • Git

We implement an Agile/Scrum based methodology and familiarity with these methodologies is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering (BE or B.Sc.) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of previous software development
  • Minimum 4 years of Microsoft Office development, preferably with the Microsoft Excel object model.
  • 4+ Years of Programming in ASP.net, C# .net.
  • AngularJS (or other applicable JavaScript library )
  • Experience using Visual Studio 2015/2017, Git and TFS.
  • Experience and working knowledge of Cloud based solutions.
  • Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibits passion for staying current on technologies and best practices as related to software development.
  • Must also be willing to express new and innovative ideas.
  • Exposure and adoption of Agile software development life cycle Methodologies
  • Experience with Web services and Web APIs
  • Experience coding unit tests/Test driven development
