Product Management Internship (Firm Central) - Summer 2018

Job Description

Do you have a have a bias for action and can break down complex problems into steps that can ultimately lead to creative solutions? Are you passionate about data, market insights and trends? Are you motivated by contributing to multiple projects in a dynamic work environment? If so, Thomson Reuters has the internship for you.

As a Product Management Intern, you will work closely with the Small and Medium Law Firm Practice Management Product teams, supporting Firm Central, a global cloud-based legal practice management solution.

This opportunity will allow you to expand your knowledge of product management while also building skills in storytelling, market analysis and competitive analysis. You will also contribute to the development of a world-class software product.

Responsibilities:

  • Research target market trends and identify market requirements for existing and future product enhancement consideration
  • Attend story grooming and spring review meetings
  • Assist in prioritizing users’ story backlog
  • Write detailed user stories
  • Participate in Agile Scrum grooming sessions to clearly communicate the story intent and acceptance criteria for product requirements
  • Collaborate with the user experience (UX) team to design highly functional, usable and visually appealing products and assist in testing usability
  • Partner with the Product Marketing team throughout the product launch process and ensure organizational readiness for all departments

  • Analytical skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team, across a highly-matrixed organization to accomplish objectives
  • Ability to prioritize multiple, complex projects simultaneously, while adapting to changing priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment

Qualifications:

  • College degree or minimum of 2 years of coursework completed in either Computer Science or Business
  • Interest in the Product Management field
  • Expertise in PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Business Objects and Salesforce.com
