e-Solutions Consultant – Tax and Accounting


To lead and support market development efforts for Thomson Reuters online business efforts and to act as a knowledge source, both internally and externally, for Thomson Reuters online tax products and delivery strategy. This role leverages expert relationship skills, product and Canadian Tax market knowledge and a highly professional approach to effectively manage complex relationships, while supporting the Sales Representative in capitalizing on growth opportunities within their accounts. 

This position is responsible for:

  • working with clients and Sales Representatives through pre- and post-sales process of Taxnet Pro, Tax Foresight, Checkpoint and Orbitax product lines to maximize customer acquisition and retention success;
  • pre-sales support functions  include: working with clients through formal presentations to explore options that gain the support and acceptance of all parties; providing a deep knowledge of tax products and their connection to customer value through trial evaluation; overseeing the Managed Trial process including ensuring customer and business objectives are achieved;
  • post-sales functions include:  new customer on-boarding; building relationships with key stakeholders; regular account review and customer touchdowns; coordinating internal resources and schedules; and regularly reviewing of usage and product adoption statistics with customers and internal stakeholders;
  • developing creative approaches and solutions to deal with customer challenges and opportunities while working with the Tax team;
  • engaging in market development activities, including networking that result in qualified leads for the sales team (e.g. trade shows, professional conferences);
  • acting as a critical point of information dissemination for the Tax Product Team and developing and delivering sales and training;
  • working closely with the Tax Product Team and Sales & Training to coordinate and integrate sales and marketing efforts; and
  • preparing monthly reports on  activities; and managing personal and other expense budgets.

You will be a strong team player and will possess:

  • a university degree – Post Graduate preferred - ideally with several years’ experience within a tax firm or corporate tax department;
  • a strong understanding of the tax marketplace, practitioner issues and transactional tax workflow;
  • the ability to think laterally and maintain key relationships with strategic alliance partners;
  • dynamic presentation skills and proven strategic account experience;
  • a keen understanding of work solutions applications and value;
  • strong organizational and time management skills;
  • a willingness to travel; and
  • strong PC skills – MS Office.

A professional designation (CPA and/or TEI membership) and experience with Taxnet Pro and Checkpoint would be considered assets.
